Any recent defections by Mustang players? We tend to lose a lot when things go from good to bad.

The loons having control of the Democrat party is no different that the Trump-lovin', truth-denyin' whackjobs that are controlling the Republican Party at the moment.

You can get ready to stack that “highest winning percentage in Texas High School Football” in the corner next to the “undefeated in district streak” and the “chain gang defense.” One day your kids will look at the signs at the old stadium and say “hey! We used to be GOOD, didn’t we?”

This’ll be the longest because I don’t see them dropping one to us or HJ. Unless they get absolutely beaten down by Jasper, then there will a looooooong thread. Getting shelled in the first round could get the posters going, too, I guess.

But they also swept district in 2018. They’re 1–2 in district this year.

They won’t fall off of the radar… they’ll be a decent team that competes for a dc more often than not and almost always makes the playoffs. What they won’t be is mentioned in conversations about going to state or being ranked in the top 10 preseason polls. I think you’ll see them like a Jasper or Silsbee, or maybe even one notch beneath those type of programs. Consistently fielding good teams, just not great. I mean, unless kids start to transfer out, which is a really big possibility in this era-in that case all bets are off and they could easily be another school like HISD Scarborough. I doubt it, but I wouldn’t rule it out in 8 years or so.

I’m honestly surprised. I felt like you’d see the start of a decline as kids who were in the program under CT graduated, and play calling proved itself to be a less than we’d seen in the past. I’m honestly surprised how bad it’s gotten so quickly… The Jasper game is a tossup in my opinion. This is the point in a season where kids start to bail on the program in lots of places. Has there been any of that in WOS as of late?

Can I get a “you can’t win the Kentucky Derby with a mule” shoutout from the WOS faithful?

Every time it seems like the stars might line up, they don’t. WOS is down in 22, but so are we. We had a good team in 16 (for us) and WOS had a great team (for them). WOS is very vulnerable this year, but….. Go Cards!

If HF ever has a chance to beat WOS, this is it. Serious playoff implications here. And the SETXSports ban hammer will be in full effect if the Stangs drop to 0-2 in District tonight. But I don’t see that happening.

WOS gets back in the win column this week. I predict a BIG win for the Mustangs. They’re not great, but they’re still better than most.

I agree completely about student athletes NOT being called out. They’re kids. I’ll abide by the rule about coaches, but it’s dumb. If a man wants to take on the role of coaching with all of its financial rewards, prestige, power, etc… and expects to bask in the glory and praise after wins, he/she should have to face the criticism when it comes. There’s a big difference between criticizing a kid who threw a pick versus criticizing a highly paid professional who made a questionable play call, or is even having problems after deciding to install a new philosophy despite the old one being pretty doggone effective. Should people stick “for sale” signs in his yard? Absolutely not. But should that man be spared from any form of criticism, too? I don’t think so.

Big game here... Winner is still in the DC hunt... Loser not so much.
