  1. That’s not a knock on Buna… a team like BC should be rolling over schools like OF and Buna. If you can’t beat those guys who are “ok” teams a classification or two down, you shouldn’t even be talking about the playoffs. I don’t care about moral victories…. I want the kids practicing on Thanksgiving Day.
  2. Well, we have a state championship and they don’t. They don’t walk in the rarified air like champions such as WOS, Newton, and The Mighty Bridge City Cardinals.
  3. No, but it’s sure been that way lately.
  4. ‘13 didn’t count… our qb got ejected in the first half for fighting.
  5. I haven't forgotten 2015 when Huffman was Silsbee's prom queen and the Tigers blew a big lead in the fourth and gave away the win. Silsbee ought to win this one, but I think it could be a trap game. New turf, homecoming, just shelled Vidor... I can see the Tigers not being focused. I guess we'll see.
  6. We've been talking mad garbage about OF since they refused to play us for several years. The Bayou Bowl, the Buzzy Gunn, etc.... they FINALLY agree to come back and take their whuppins' and we've literally just hiked up our skirts and let them have at it two years in a row. I'd just assume we wouldn't want to lose to those guys... but that's just me.
  7. If we can’t beat Buna we need to just forfeit the season.
  8. Also… having kids outside of marriage is a pretty good determinant of whether or not someone ends up in public housing. The need for public housing in the black community is largely caused by the rate of illegitimate births in that community, not “redlining.”
  9. No, ma’am. You’ve been lied to. You can ride through any town and in the historically black neighborhoods there are empty lots, abandoned houses, and sometimes just an old porch. Did redlining happen? Absolutely. That’s not the reason that blacks don’t typically own homes. We can discuss property values in minority neighborhoods any time you wish, but I don’t think you’d like it because sometimes facts hurt feelings. Black people are WAY over represented in public housing. That number should be closer to the 13% thats reflected by population. We could also point out that Hispanics are way UNDER represented in public housing. It’s cultural. That group is a lot like the majority of white people… willing to do whatever it takes to NOT end up in public housing. A large portion of the black population WANTS to live in public housing. Their idea of success is moving out of the projects into a section 8 apartment, and if it all goes well, maybe one day a section eight house. If you are born poor in America, stay poor your entire life, and die poor… you make bad financial decisions that have nothing to do with the color of your skin. They literally made up mortgage programs in the 90s to encourage minority home ownership by allowing people to buy houses with little to no money down. When people who didn’t qualify for traditional mortgages (because they were bad credit risks to start with)defaulted on their new loans, what did call it? “Predatory lending.” It’s so ridiculous.
  10. That might not have been the best adjective, but the sentiment is spot on. Watch when they start accepting applications for public housing in Beaumont. There will be people lined up around the block wanting that subsidized housing. They all look the same, and they don’t look like me. You can’t aspire to live for free and then say racism is the reason you don’t own a house. You can drive through any town and on “that” side of town you’ll find tons of abandoned houses where the occupants chose to live in public housing instead of buying and maintaining a home…. If you said to them “ok… you can pay $1000/month and own your own home or stay here in the projects for free… then hopefully get a section 8 apartment in a couple years” and very few people would take you up on the house.
  11. This, friends, is why I let my season tickets go. There’s nothing like getting your tail busted by your much smaller bitter rival.
  12. I’ve been waiting for this game to see how the Mustangs would perform for the new Coach. It’s only a half and the jury is still out on the Bulldogs, but the mustangs definitely didn’t fall on their faces. Good start….
  13. No offense, it's hard to accept people who elected to live in section 8 housing for their entire life because it was practically free when they start complaining about how they don't have personal wealth that comes from home ownership and saying that it's because of racism. You don't find a lot of white people who are willing to live in the projects or section 8 apartments. There are waiting lists of working-aged black people waiting to get their subsidized housing. I heard a guy with my own ears complaining... DETCOG had built him a free house. He was complaining that he was having to pay property taxes now. And I quote "I would have never taken this house if I'd known I was going to have to pay taxes on it every year." That sums up a large portion of that population. But then we look at those poor personal choices and decry racism and oppression when the actual problem was a lack of motivation.
  14. That permit only applies to private property of which the owner has no objection to the camping. They can't just camp on your place if you don't want them there.
  15. If you ask me, this all started to get bad when soccer moms started filming themselves giving handouts to the homeless. If they came to town and struck out (like those black people that tried to solicit donations at the four way in Mauriceville) they'll move onto greener pastures. It's all of those "Be Kind" people that draw them in... it's like feeding those birds in the parking lots in Beaumont. At the end of the day you just have a bunch more birds and everybody's car gets pooped upon.
  16. My understanding is that you have to apply for your permit if you'll be camping on private property for more than 48 hours. I don't think you need one if you'll be camping for less than 48 hours.... and i took it to mean that you didn't have to have a permit before you started camping....just before 48 hours has elapsed.
  17. I mean, we all knew this was coming whenever the federal government took over college lending in 2010 under Obama. The whole situation is stupid. The working man is literally paying for kids to go to school and be indoctrinated by leftist professors. I don't see how this ends well.
  18. I guess I'm just wondering why... Will getting the conviction tossed allow him to start bidding civil jobs again? I can't think of another reason to keep chunking money at it if I were him.
  19. Why does he keep appealing? I mean, what does a win look like? It's a lot of time and money from somebody who doesn't care what people think about him.
  20. Heck, they signed an executive order and totally jacked up school lunches during the Obama administration. How did they force schools to feed kids “healthy” foods against everybody’s wishes? It took a couple of weeks to implement, too.
