  1. So what y’all are saying is that there’s no way that the federal government could ever force local schools to do anything like desegregate or implement Title IX? I guess y’all have it figured out and I’m wrong.
  2. That’s the best analogy that I’ve got… all the department of education would have to do is withhold funding and the schools would have no choice to buy to bend to their will. My right to travel about the country wasn’t being infringed by the feds shutting off Louisiana’s highway funding. But it got the state to bend to the federal will. It’s doubtful that the UIL would prohibit anybody from participating… that might invoke some constitutional issues. The purse strings are where it’s at.
  3. Schools have no constitutional rights. Generally speaking, of course. Louisiana wanted to keep their drinking age down at 18… the feds wanted 21. It got changed to 21 when the feds threatened to withhold all highway funding. I can absolutely see them doing something similar with “offensive” mascots and school funds. The problem is this.. when someone is “offended” and we cave in to pacify them, they just come back around for more of your freedoms. I’m a proud Southerner who lost ancestors in the Civil War. I should have raised hell when people started vilifying the flag 20 or so years ago. Now I no longer have the ability to express any pride in my heritage. It’s scornful. I was watching an old episode of Hogan’s heroes the other night… comedy or not, there were schwastikas on some of the German lapels. How long until some kid gets upset and hogans heroes is unwatchable, just like Dukes of Hazzard? The whole situation is just dumb. I watched some clown on tv the other night celebrating as they tore down a confederate monument. “Traitors!” they all yell. I guess they never realized that THEY would have been the traitors in the 1860s if they wouldn’t have stood alongside their southern neighbors to fight for their land, huh? We should have all raised hell when “they” made Ole Miss stop playing Dixie at home games. What better story is there than that of a racist institution (like Ole Miss in those old days of segregation) being dragged kicking and screaming into a diversified existence today? That story is just as much of a triumph as any other progress made in areas of racial equality. Celebrate the first black man to take the field, but also appreciate the progress made by the other side, too… but no, they’d rather have “social justice” than equality and harmony. And it comes from all sides these days
  4. My guess is within 10 years... maybe more. But I expect to see it during my lifetime. I don't see it coming from PNG, but I could definitely see it coming from the state, but most likely the feds. All they have to do is threaten to withhold funding and it'll happen. The outcries are just too loud and too common. I don't agree with it, but I think it's inevitable.
  5. No, a progressive tax like we have is more "fair." but nobody ever envisioned a 37% upper tax rate for the IRS. If they want to fix something, make it illegal for guys like Jeff Bezos to be paid in stock instead of a salary, then allowed to borrow against that stock tax-free. That's the real scam. We don't tax those securities as income because you don't actually make any money until the security is sold. BUT, Mr. Bezos can borrow against those securities (and live off of the proceeds of the loan) and that "loan" is tax free. That's how so many of the really, really wealthy get around paying any personal income tax and it should be stopped. They should also stop giving people money they didn't even earn as a "refund." Earned Income Credit is bad joke.
  6. They've come a long ways from the lean warriors that ruled the plains. A modern depiction would be overweight, undereducated, unemployed, living on government handouts but mad about school mascots. PNG WILL end up changing their mascot. It's inevitable.
  7. "Documents are deemed declassified when I take them." Makes perfect sense to me. He should have pardoned himself when he had the chance, too. Or better yet, just have the VP refuse to recognize the electors and remain president. Being this stupid should hurt. FWIW, I don't want Obama or any other ex president to be holding documents with the highest possible security clearance in their closet at the house. Y'all would all be crying that a democrat had threatened our national security if they did the same thing that Trump did.
  8. “Those weren’t even trump supporters on 1/6th… It was them Antifas!!!” The sad thing is that people believe that mess.
  9. But y'all get mad when they call January 6th and Insurrection, lol.
  10. I think it definitely violates the "equal protection under the law" afforded by the Fourteenth Amendment... But I've always felt like Affirmative Action did the same thing. I think we've all got stories about people who missed out on opportunities because of their skin color or genitals. It's wrong when it happens to anybody for any reason. The crappy part to me is when a candidate is selected largely due to their race, but when they get terminated it's also about their race. [Hidden Content] I mean, they hired you because you're black, but then they also fired you because you're black? There's a BAD misconception (or at least I hope it's a misconception, not a new reality) that goes "they can't fire me because of my "qualifications."" The unfortunate repercussion is that employers recognize the potential liabilities from hiring such a "qualified" candidate... there's no exposure if you hire a hetero white dude. Somewhat more liability if you hire a white chick... but it's a bomb waiting to go off if you hire anybody from another group. Many firms are finding out the hard way that they got sold a bill of goods about "our diversity is our strength." I think that it's true... we need to hire the best person for the job, and sometimes the best person doesn't score the highest on a test or whatever. But hiring (or in this case, firing) someone based on their race is just.... racist, lol.
  11. This all I’ve been saying about y’all. [Hidden Content]
  12. Drudge. Front page. But they’re a commie, too, since they don’t spend all of their time being Trump’s mouth piece.
  13. Did you see where Trump can’t find anybody to represent him vs the government? No self-respecting attorney will put their name/reputation on the line for Trump anymore. Best keep a firm hand on the soap, DT.
  14. So was it tongue-in-cheek when he said that the election was stolen, too? It’s not satire, it’s a slight exaggeration, maybe. Shooting somebody? Of course it’s an analogy. But he can definitely act hateful, lose an election that was practically un-losable, try to overthrow the government, steal an election, mishandle top secret docs, act like a petulant child, pay for 8 abortions, get impeached twice, lose both houses of Congress, destroy the economy, mishandle the pandemic/vaccination response, set trillions of dollars in wasteful PPP spending, explode the national debt, fail to get the keystone pipeline built, forget about repeal and replacing Obamacare, never prosecute Hillary, and generally embarrass the office of the presidency and the red-hatted fools will still wipe a tear from their eye and proclaim “he’s the best President we’ve ever had.” The truth is this. Rudy literally lost his license to practice law based on the things he said and did after the election. Why isn’t he, a former prosecutor, US Attorney, and “America’s Mayor” trying to get his license reinstated? Because at this point he’s just hoping to die a free man, that’s why. Just like that clown Donald Trump. Y’all are dumber than those people who still refer to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton as “Reverend.”
  15. I think Trump said it best. He’s right. If he said it’s gonna snow in southeast texas tomorrow, y’all would be chopping firewood and buying snow tires. And then y’all would be blaming democrats, the DOJ, and the media when it hits 96 degrees tomorrow.
  16. That’s because they are Trump supporters first… not Americans, not conservatives, not Republicans. In Trump they trust. They still believe that he’s “America First.” That’s just a slogan he used to earn their votes. He’s Trump first, and it’s catching up with him now. It started with getting hammered in the election and it’s going to end with him broke and in jail if he lives that long. I’m sure that there were some Marcos supporters in the phillipines, some Saddam supporters in Iraq, and some qhadaffi (sp) supporters in Libya that believed their dear leader would return to power, too. Heck, Hitler had supporters in that bunker when he offed himself. False hope in a failed leader is a shameful thing.
  17. You got a search warrant released yesterday, plus the inventory of the top secret docs that the FBI removed from his home. You have have phone calls made to the GA AG to “find the votes.” I think you’ve seen hours and hours of video of the events that happened on 1/6. but you know what you haven’t seen? The mountains of evidence of fraud that Rudolph, the Pillow Man, abs Trump himself promised to deliver back in November of 2020. Not even a single grainy cellphone picture of any wrongdoing, lol. The mayor of Beaumont couldn’t get her nails done during the lockdown without there being photos of it all over the internet… but the 2020 election was stolen without anybody snapping a single photo with a smart phone like we all carry. But y’all still believe it like you believe the words of St John the Revelator. THATS deranged.
  18. Last week y’all were all clamoring that this raid was the work of the 1/6 committee before it came obvious that this was ANOTHER completely different legal predicament that Trump had created for himself. Let’s see… right now it’s the 1/6 committee, this foolish episode where he made off with top secrets documents, the election tampering results in Georgia, the investigation of his business practices in NYC, plus the mountain of civil lawsuits filed against him over orchestrating the riots on 1/6… plus who knows what else I’m forgetting. And y’all still think people will vote for four more years of the clown show, lol.
  19. Have y'all started to realize yet that the only thing that's gonna keep ya daddy out of prison is a presidential pardon from Joe Biden? Let's hope he's not too senile.
  20. Yeah… I thought about Andre Rison and that chick from TLC. She was burning his clothes in the bathtub and the whole place went up. No insurance, either.
  21. ACTUALLY, that’s hypocrisy from all of y’all.
  22. But you support Trump for President in 2024 when he does it, too? Lolololol
  23. No class whatsoever? What about when Trump was doing it?
  24. But y’all are all crying ‘cause Beto said a dirty word!!!! Actually made a thread about it and everybody chimed in. You can’t make this up! THAT is deranged, lol.
