I have been watching HJ football for 40 years and I would say this is the most talented group of boys as a whole we have ever had..the coaching is no doubt the best in school history..so you people that want to get on here and run a bunch of young men down for having their best season in school history go ahead..but it really makes you look like a person with no class..and as far as a teams history..well it does seem like you would know that history started at one point or another..and who are you to say this is not the start of HJ history?

HJ will defeat Bellville point blank. Won't be a blowout but probably by two TDs. Is H.R. Huffandstuff still playing? I believe all three playoff teams from our district were ranked, that makes it a tough district.

Falcon I could care less if HJ was beat by Shady Homes Retirement Village. Truth be told, I do not have anything to prove for past years or future games. My son's play for the team so I will be 100% behind them win or lose.
The truth these past 2 seasons have been great the boys have played well and have given the school and the community something to be proud of. So I would much rather relish in the NOW unlike many of you who would want to bring up the past and I can only think that the reason you do it is to bring the program down (why else would you do it?) 
 
So you HJ haters keep living in the past bringing up the what was and used to be. We HJ fans will head to Houston to watch our team play in the SECOND round of the playoffs for the SECOND year in a row,  while many of you sit at home and wait for next year. Hey but you can pull out that scrap book an see how great your team once was.
 
I am VERY proud of the South East Texas Teams that are showing the talent we have in our little podunk corner of the world...WOS, OF, HJ, are still going and I am rooting for these boys... 
 
I said it last year and I will say it again. I tell my boys to enjoy the moment there are MANY of us on this very site that never got the chance to taste playoff water, I hear it taste a little sweeter than regular water. 

Making the playoffs this year isn't as difficult to do. As far as their tough district goes, I'm not so sure. Wharton, yes, a good team, and the only reason that game didn't go into OT is because Wharton either mishandled a snap on the PAT or tried to run a fake and couldn't get in the end-zone. Wharton looked to be pretty dominant in that game. I think Sweeny would lose to OF and the HJ/OF/WO-S district is far tougher than theirs. They only have two teams left which is the third place team and Bellville. I don't think HJ will dominate them, but I do think their size will be a great advantage, especially in the trenches.

To me honestly I am starting to see you're the worst type of sports fan. No credit to what you say should be given. I don't care how many games you've seen or how many past names and records you can spout out because you clearly just have an agenda to be the jerk of message boards who predicts doom and gloom to look cool. HJ has one of the best coaches in the state and his coaching staff is tops.the lbs for hj are both blue chippers and the rest of the kids are very smart players very strong on both side of the ball ,HJ WILL WIN THIS GAME

If you know anything about sports gambling, there's always a spread, and you put it at 4 TD's. That's why I picked them to cover, because it's obvious you don't know what you're talking about. I think HJ is going to win, so I would be stupid not to take the bet on a 28 point spread. So, HJ's wins against 2 or 3 (depends on if you count Jasper) East Texas Schools mean nothing? Or is East Texas down as well? Go over to Smoaky and try to make that statement. So what's your prediction, HJ, OF, and WO-S losing this round? La Marque gonna win it all? So, if all of this doesn't happen, are you going to eat your crow? Or will you disappear until next season? I think even if an SETX team just so happens to win it all, you'll continue to blindly stick by your idiotic statements.

I'll take any bet that is giving HJ 28 points in this game.
 
I agree, lose by 1 or 100 doesn't change fact. But in the betting game, point spreads are very important.
 
You make a prediction of a team to lose by 28, man up and back it up. ;)

i think it will be a competitive game, but anyone who predicts bellville to win by 4 touchdowns is a fool.

To the players....THANKYOU for a fun season!!!!!! We will miss you seniors!!!!!
To the underclassmen and there will be a bunch next season we look foward to seeing you guys next year.
The next couple of seasons should be pretty fun for  us as Indians.

I hope to see it in you pick-ems, then. Oh and just a little information, I really don't think you can call Liberty the birthplace of Texas. Washington on the Brazos, where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed, might have a case for that. Maybe even Nacogdoches, being the oldest town in Texas, but not Liberty. You just better hope Crosby doesn't lose any time soon. And, as MoFo said, the Great Lakes aren't in Utah. No wonder you can't find us. You would think that with three cities to choose from, you might be able to get it. Maybe you're too busy looking for water in Utah. It's okay, I know a lot of other women who are directionally challenged as well, you aren't the only one.

Well Footballer I see your problem, see you are asking Siri to find a city where actually Hardin-Jefferson is mixture of the 2 counties that form the school district. I can see the issue though evidently Siri is in a state of denial being that you have her in Crosby (and the jungle part of Crosby at that). I asked Siri to locate Crosby for me to see what part the jungle was in and she started singing I've Got the World On a String and then broke into a whole Christmas montage. 

i have to admit as bad as i WANT to rub this in some HJ fans' face. I can't. The Hawks are a good team and their fans believe in them and love them, Hard to hate them for that. Good luck HAWKS! Why do refs in big games have to prove they are bigger than the game itself? 

This is my take on this game, and before I make it let me say it's my last post on this thread until tomorrow, so don't get mad if you respond and I don't. WOS was the better team tonight, but not by a whole lot. They looked like they were going to run away with it early, then HJ dominated the 2nd quarter and should've went into the half down one score. A ref trying to impact the game made a call that looked bad to me, and dberry has said it was wrong after seeing the tape. that allowed WOS to score completely against the momentum of the game. Down 21-7 is a lot different than 14-7 when you run a slow offense AND you're playing a great defense. HJ fought back and cut it to a score, at which point it should've been tied. The WOS scores and goes up two scores, which should've been one. HJ throws a pick with 8 or so minutes to go that leads to a very short field and a score. This doesn't happen if they're down one score. Guarantee it. They're running 2nd and 8 down a score. There's no way to know what would've actually happened. Maybe they punt and then WOS scores anyway? No clue. HJ is then out of sorts and fumbles and WOS scores again. At this point it was over anyway. HJ isn't the type of team that's going to score two or three times in 7 minutes. All this to say, there's no way of knowing how the play at the end of the 2nd quarter affected the game. But it absolutely made an impact. Honestly, I think WOS wins. But no way do I believe it's 21 points, or even the 14 it is if you just subtract the bogus TD to end the second half. They out gained the hawks by what, 60 yards? The refs were absolutely awful, both ways, no bones about it. But HJ got victimized on the one call that I think all but ended any chance they had to win. Review- WOS was the better team. I'm not butt hurt about the loss. I AM butt hurt about the call that completely screwed HJs gameplan and momentum. And no way was WOS 21 points better. Sorry if I got grumpy on here with anyone. Hard to see the hawks play so well to get back into that game and then endure a call that totally puts them back in the hole they'd just scratched and clawed their way out of.

I'm going to take the high road now and give HJ their props. They are a good team and will make some noise in the playoffs. Just wasn't their night. Hopefully, both teams will take care of business and have a shot of a rematch. Go get em HJ, let's represent our district!!!!
