For someone that believes High Island is no competition, you are at least giving them some credit with the 14 points. :-) Evadale is an awesome team and I congratulate them on their success this year. It will be a tough game for the Cardinals, but you should never write them completely off. Those boys play with all heart and with everything they have. So, as far as the "do you really need to ask for predictions" question, I think it should be asked. Some of us have alot of faith in the High Island Cardinals!!! It will be a good game no matter what.

Your headline may be funny but your little "show" sure isn't. SPCA sure wouldn't like it, either..... I SO agree. That is absolutely horrible and needs to be removed. I cannot believe anyone would put that up. By the way, I didn't even find his headline funny.

Good job Bobcats! I am very proud of the High Island boys! Everything I read on here says what a great job y'all did. You should not be disappointed for this loss. For the first time in years, HD did not have a shutout against you and that is fantastic. The message boards were full of people predicting a ridiculous shut out. They just didn't know this Cardinal team. Leli, I am hearing awesome things about you and the rest of the team. :-) I can't wait to be at a game and that will be very soon! GO CARDS!!!

My son, who is a sophomore on the Fighting Cards, got in my truck after the game and the first thing out of his mouth was, "We let our seniors down". That speaks volumes about those boys. Thanks for your leadership Tiner and all of you seniors will be greatly missed on the field next year. GO CARDINALS!!!!

Coach Hooker, It was a fun year for all of us in HI as well. We sincerely appreciate the job you did with our boys. We'll miss you, but know that you will do a great job at HJ. Good luck and thanks again.

Congrats Coach Hooker!! We will miss you terribly at HI though!! None of us wanted him to go so HJ you should consider yourselves very lucky to have him as part of your team.

Wow. I thought this thread was titled "Coach of the Year". I saw all the new posts and thought there were more nominations and then read it. I am not really sure who most of you would want to see win the Coach of the Year. I know my vote still goes to Coach Hooker!!!!

And it takes a great coach to take a team of 9 (only 9) boys - in his FIRST year of coaching - to a district championship for the first time in 8 years. I still say Coach Jacob Hooker of High Island!

Coach Hooker, we hate to see you go because you did a great job with our boys this year. Thank you for a fantastic senior year of baseball for Chance. Good luck wherever you go. We'll miss you!

You boys should be nothing but PROUD of yourselves. There are not many teams that could have made it as far as you did with 9 boys on the team. You have no reason to hang your heads. Hold them high and remember YOU are the DISTRICT CHAMPIONS! You all had an awesome season and though it ended sooner than you would have liked, you have every reason to be proud of that season. Why the change Coach?

I saw on the news this morning that Spring had "lemon sized" hail last night. Is the field going to be ok for the High Island/Fayetteville game tonight?

Sievers and Hall pitched and way too much happened for me to type. There were alot of errors made on HI's part and Fayetteville just played an awesome ballgame. One other thing we all have to look at is High Island has 9 players. They have played their hearts out this whole season and have done a tremendous job with NINE players. When announcing the line up at last night's game, the Fayetteville players just kept on coming. They had enough players to make a whole 'nother team! As a matter of fact, in looking at their roster now, they have as many pitchers on their team as HI has players!!! Sievers and Hall have pitched awesomely (10-3 and 6-2 respectively), but they are only two players. No matter what happens tomorrow night, those boys from High Island need to be PROUD!!!

HI Cards. You hold your heads up and get back into this game. Y'all were not playing ball like we know you can. Your school, your parents, your community and your friends are all very proud of you and know that you can do this. We all be out there rooting you on Friday night. Now, LET'S GO CARDINALS!!!!
