Middle school success does not equal anything.  Sorry buddy!!!
tell me you are agreeing with me then. If you think I said that it does equal you need to learn what "=\=" means.  That means "does not equal" for those not informed of this.

 3. And forget the Larry Bird example, use a better example, such as Bo Jackson, that guy played two professional sports. Now, I don't know because I haven't researched it, but I bet you he worked out all the stinking time.  Sure, basketball wasn't one of his sports, but to play two sports, somethings had to cross and I bet you anything working out on days he really didn't want to was one of them to keep himself ready for BOTH sports.
 4.
I love when the posters put a foot in their mouths and you say ahhh....now I see why.First the 50 minute athletic period dedicated to skill level. Makes a difference buddy. Turns a program. Skill level improves and SHAZAMMMMMMMMMMMM you now have some magic. It is amazing what happens. Next. Larry Bird. That guy was bigger faster and stronger. Coudln't dribble, pass or shoot. Knowsnotenough..Try another argument.Horns winning football games is great, but if the other athletes arent given the RIGHT opprotunities to have the same success, somebody may be well, looking for a job..It might have happened before??? And my favorite.....Look at Michel Jordan, he lifted on game days? this is so true.....But what also may be true is, he could play a little before he got a little stronger. Skill again, always comes first. No skill, and lifting , just helps the guy down at the beach with the ladies. Well at least I hope he gets some benefit. I love sarcasm. If you dont know what your talking about, get off the site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Skills at the PARKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. Come on!
You do know that championship teams are built in the offseason? This goes for all sports, I don't care, you name it, that's when "skills" are imroved.  This means that kids need to put it upon themselves to make each other better because the coach can't be there 24 hours a day.  I agree, they can help out as much as possible, but there is a point where these guys have to take what the coaches teach them and make themselves better. All some of you guys are doing on here is making the coaches the pawns and pointing the finger as to why you think everything is wrong instead of thinking of a better way to be more constructive.
 5. Small schools with small budgets can't really help that now can they?  They don't have a budget to hire two different people.
 6.
You have pretty much summed it up, But some AD football coaches have the attitude of their way or the highway.
I understand your concern, but I have a question.  You put on the AD's shoes. Set the scene, you are the AD at HF and along with that title, you are the Head football coach.  Your job depends on winning in football as the head football coach, and you only have about 3-4 years to begin winning football games or the community wants you out.  With the downfall of HF football in the recent past, would you, as the AD, really think your job relied on what the basketball team does?  I'm not saying just close the program or to not have an open gym for those that want to take advantage of that option, but I am asking with 3-4 short years to try and bring a struggling football program back, would basketball be your number 1 priority?

If you've never been hit by a ball after it comes off a metal bat in high school then you don't understand.
I wish they were bannd at every level. My son pitches....and it's always in the back of your head. Besides, the big boys use wood.
The reason they aren't is the same reason we were having the conference alignment talk...$$$
 11.
tx once again is only the 2nd best team in the state of tx, wow tcu in football
[IMG][Hidden Content]]
 12. Eagle, riddle me this, why wouldn't Texas want to go sec, even if just for the fans? I mean can you imagine watching an LSU/Texas, Alabama/Texas, Georgia/Texas, Tennessee/Texas, Florida/Texas, and keep A&M/Texas?  Who wouldn't want to watch those games? Talk about revenue too those would be high rating games and no one can deny that.  Also, all this started for money, not academics, so if Texas wants money, sec is where the most will be. I'd take the above over USC, Oregon, ucla, cal...etc
 13.
baylor is out, expect colorado to accept their invite today. i've been hearing that the pac 16 football schedule wouldnt be in effect until 2012 but the other sports could begin as early as next year
Some of the tech bretheren are not taking nicely to some of the things being said about you alma mater.
 14. USC won't be making it back to the MNC any time soon then  :D
 15. That's what I was thinking but I still think it'll be Big 12 south teams playing each other in the Pac 16
 16. You two have formed an alliance???  :o  Crap, this football season is going to be fun.  ;D
 17. And no I won't be pulling for the toads either, so where's my shirt?  8)
 18. I knew it'd be tough against Miami, I think the rain delay/suspension Monday really hurt as we were beginning to rally.  The series in Austin will be one to see. I hope it's on ESPN, I need more college baseball! Regional wasn't enough. And fun is what it's all about.
 19.
I've been on the TEXAS bandwagon for 50 years. Kinda hard to break tradition.  ::) Horndawg, since I attended no large universities, I am doomed to only being a fan of Lamar? Since I dropped out of Lamar due to finances, do I have to revert to just pulling for my old high school, junior high, or elementary school, which none of them exist anymore? Where does it end?
Nice to see ya again baddog, I was wondering if I'd see ya in on this.  Root for who you want, I'm was just pointing out the hypocrisy, that is all.  Hope you've been well, my friend.
 20.
Aggies are so sensitive.  There is a conversation about how LSU sucked this year in baseball, and a typical tiger response (but we party better!  ::))  In all this, somehow an aggie joins in to say they are REAL fans (typical) since they went to school there.  Newsflash:  It's THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.  Of course Texans are going to root for them.  It's natural, and it's right.  Now if you have an affinity for farm animals, or fake armies then you may feel different.  But the majority of Texans are always going to root for the flagship school TEXAS.   Oh and BTW Tiger fans check out the May 2010 issue of Playboy.  Guess who was voted the Top Party School in the country.  Yep, The University of Texas at Austin.  Hook'em.
So, first you talk about letting bandwaggoning begin for Florida, then you defend the bandwaggoning of Texas (which is what the picture is depicting if you haven't figured that out)? Quite hypocritical, don't ya think?
 21.
So you're saying the aggies wrote a bad "I'm a farmer" song that sucked so bad Texas had to rewrite to make it better? Figures.....
Ha typical response from someone who got their feelings hurt. What's funny is the guy who went there doesn't let things like this get to him, but I wouldn't expect you to understand.
 22. This is AAW correct? Doesn't really matter, just trying to put the handle with the name. Prayers here.
 23. The second half is all you need to know...again, this is not fired at Eagle, as he has his paper from there  ;) Honestly, it's all in fun [img][Hidden Content]] And before the "obsessed with texas" begins, read this... "Hunnicutt wrote "Texas Fight" in response to the song used by their long time rivals, Texas A&M University. One of the Aggie songs then was Farmers Fight, which consisted of the words "Farmers Fight" sung to Taps, a song played at many military funerals. Impressed by the song, Hunnicutt figured he would write "Texas Fight" also sung to Taps, but making the song more march-like and having "Texas" throughout instead of "Farmers." In a letter written in 1952 by Colonel Hunnicutt, he says "I wrote 'Texas Fight'... in an attempt to counteract the songs and yells of the Texas Aggies, which were not too complimentary to our Student Body and some of which tended to ridicule 'The Eyes of Texas'."
 24.
Anybody know of a radio statio where you can get the Miami/Aggie game?
Try this. [Hidden Content]
