Who cares who called who? Green isn't the one with the BC job, so what in the world does it matter? It is not going to change the outcome except for people trying to stir up controversy. So how about we forget all that extra bushleague talk and give Coach Landry a congrats since he GOT A CALL FROM STUMP or WHOEVER and he ACCEPTED the JOB OFFER and HE IS THE NEW BC COACH!!! I think that is good as long as the Coach does not try to do away with the Longhorn Head on the helmet. That Head is part of the HF tradition and I would hate to see it "MESSED WITH". I remember when the helmets were just plain gold in the 90s (like notre dame), the longhorn head has only been there since Coach Walker from what i remember. Do you know if they were there before Tarver? As far as changing, it wouldn't bother me to see a blue HF (offset with H look), and the only reason for this is because of texas university put a patent on "their" longhorn head F and the new logo HF has on their helmet just isn't the same as what it was in the past. And an idea that needs to get started at HF is its fans wearing all blue, it really bothers me that when you go to a game such as the BC/HF game and see the difference between the color contrast in the stands. BC is all red with scattered white, and HF's side has no dominant color, so I'd like to see that change to all blue.

I have one for you MrUmp: (If something like this has already been posted, sorry, but I saw this play a Texas A&M/Mizzou game and was questioning the call) The score is tied 0-0.There are runners on first and third with 1 out. The batter hits a deep fly to right and the right fielder catches the ball. Runner on 3rd tags and crosses the plate, while the runner on 1st never tags up and get thrown out at first. Runner on 3rd crosses the plate before the runner from 1st gets doubled up. The scoreboard now reads 1-0. Does this run count? Is it just as if the bases are loaded and the defense turns two in the middle, so the run doesn't count whether the runner on 3rd crosses home before the ball gets the last out? I thought that's what it would be, but at this particular game, the run counted.

Ok, plays have not gone his way a few times, but how can you coach if a particular play goes your way or not? You can't. That's baseball, the game may not always go as you think it should. What exactly does luck have to do with coaching? This says best coach, not luckiest coach. So by these statements you have made, does Bryant have to win a state title to be considered a good coach? I do not by any means think this myself, just look at what Coach Landry does with all the teams he gets at HF. They may not have the most superb athletes, but he makes them (and us when I was there) competitive in just about every game. Now, when you can take what you have, bring them together, and make them a competitive team, that's what defines a good coach.

I am having trouble understanding why Bryant is unlucky, he is at one of the top 3A schools in the state and he seems to have guys every year that play at the next level. How in the world do you consider that unlucky? Justify that statement please.

As long as the players from HF and don't let this talk about an upset get in their head, I think they will win.

I want to go do some bass fishing on Okeechobee (sp?) in Florida and catch some of those monsters laying in those moss beds. As far as saltwater, I agree with the above, just a day under the birds with reds and specks running is good enough for me.

Spell check is a life saver...anyways...the girls had a bad game. Try to look at this as a catalyst to going to the playoffs instead of ruining the team. Catalyst to going to playoffs? With that loss, they have put themselves in a bad situation. They'll have to play very good softball the rest of the season to even make it. The Horns and Silsbee have the same record (I believe), so HF has to either win out(which can be done) and hope that Silsbee loses one, or they have to match Silsbee's next games and take it to a play in game. So as to say a catalyst for playoffs...they need to get in first.

I agree that errors can kill you, especially against a team like BC, but you have to remember that HJ didn't do its job at the plate either, so errors do not appear to be the only thing that hurt them.

FIFY I give HJ guys plenty of heck for this, so I have to straighten out my own people.

No one said BC was terrible, just they are mortal, and can be beat. I still pick ya'll to win.

Don't forget they'll need to bring their sticks too because BC will score runs. But, BC is beatable, HF proved that last week. Should be a good one, but I still believe BC will be on top though.

I concur OF, Statum, and Felts are good just wait till next year and OF will be amazing but they are already good this year and Statum pitched a good game.
