  1. Some people seem to be lost...this is a BASEBALL, talk more baseball please. Plus saying that a girls cross country team winning first in district means the baseball team will mean playoffs? Tell me where the relevance is there? I guess the next thing will be the Houston Comets won the WNBA Championship, so the Houston Texans will make the playoffs...spare me. Tell me a real reason why they will make playoffs, such as the returning players, what they did last year, who they have scheduled.
  2. I love it how HF is never in any of the "expert's" picks, but somehow are always in the running for that 3rd spot.
  3. Where is the WOS game? Huntsville? Is it at Bearkat stadium or whatever they call it?
  4. i think it'll be more of an offensive affair for both teams. i know bc's defense has struggled all year but hf's will struggle too since their starting mlb is hurt and i heard but not sure i that hf's nose guard was injured last week also. so taking all of this into accound, i think it comes down to who's offense has the ball last.
  5. This may have some of the folks in hamshire wondering why they didnt hire him as the head coach at hf. i bet if you would have asked any of the players last year when they knew walker was leaving who they'd most like to have as their head coach, it would have been broussard. not downing mangan at all because i believe he is doing a great job and i like the direction the horns are headed, i am just saying that before he came into the picture that i'm sure all the guys at hf would have liked to see broussard get the job, but as they say, one man's loss is another man's gain and i must say burnett took advantage of hf's loss. good luck to coach broussard and the ndn's the rest of the way.
  6. good luck to the horns and their quest for the playoffs. Chances are slim, but hey its high school football, anything can happen
  7. sorry but i wanted to clarify because just from what i've seen he comes over to the sidelines a couple times a game with little injuries and talks to the trainer but it is never anything major. in saying that, i didnt see the silsbee game but from the couple games i have seen, i'd say he's probably good to go. i mean the guy no disrespect when i say this, i am just saying what i see from the stands. how did the sub varsity teams turn out last night? have you heard?
  8. would you be talking about shane romero by any chance?
  9. No feelings hurt here, just look at the score
  10. Coach Broussard is one of the best defensive coordinators in the area. He definitely knows the game and is very adiment (spelling?) about his job. But I just can't picture him in purple & white. It's weird to not have him in blue and gold. But PNG you have a great person in Brou, so be good to him and he'll be great for you
  11. pretty funny how no one that was talking blowouts by silsbee get on here and admit they are eating the words that spat out. looks like it was a pretty good whippin but from the team no one expected. people better start respecting this hf team or you'll end up like silsbee did tonight.
  12. last time i checked, hf is playing silsbee this friday, not wos. ;D plus if you happened to watch the cowboys game tonight, you should realize that just hanging around helps your chances tremendously
  13. 30 trap 48 sweep boot at 9 you hf people that have been around the past few years know what I'm talking about ;D
  14. how many juniors do you have playing on that team? and how many freshman/sophomores are you playing against?
  15. he just isnt the same player he was before he took that shot to the head against wos last year. plus he still makes mistakes that he made as an underclassman (example: when he was getting sacked against EC and he just threw it up and a lineman or linebacker intercepted it), i thought that by now he would have matured to make some better decisions, but then again, when you do nothing but run the ball in practice, how can you expect a guy to be prepared to make good decisions when trying to throw it in a game?
  16. when i said 6-0 in district play, i mean in the past 3 years
  17. All I have to say is, I believe there is some kind of curse against HF when they play HJ. It seems that HJ always plays the spoiler to many things HF tries to accomplish. Look at the past few years: '05 kept the horns out of the playoffs (would have needed help to get in, but loss against hawks ended the season for sure) '06 kept the horns out of the playoffs with a 38-12 victory. and even in baseball hj is 6-0 in district play i believe against HF. So come on horns, break the curse...PLEASE
  18. Yes, Walker did go to them on away games, the second away game of my senior when we stopped because we didn't have enough because people took them and supposedly the were "bad luck" or something
  19. Looks like Mangan brought the blue pants back... when i played we wore these and they look much better with the white top than the gold pants with the white top.
  20. This is always a game where both teams do not want to lose to their friends (in some cases enemies), so you can expect a good one. My take on it and remember i have not been to any games because i no longer live in fannett but sources tell me that EC's offense consists of Thomas left, right, and up the middle. I believe if the Horns are able to contain him and hold him to under 100 yards on the ground, they stand a very good chance of winning. However, the chances are slim that that actually happens, so ill say its an offensive battle down to the wire. I'll take my horns 38-34 in a barnburner I suggest that if you are a person that decides to attend games that are the "game of the week" that you go on down to Longhorn Stadium and watch the 2007 edition of the Rice Bowl.
  21. Glad to hear my old school winning. However, remember that Walker started off the 2005-2006 season 2-0 and i cant recall but maybe last year 2-0 also, and you saw how those two seasons ended. But to stay on the positive side, this is a great start for the Horns and their new A.D. But keep in perspective that the real test begins next week when cross town rival EC travels to Hamshire for the Rice Bowl. And it doesn't get any easier in the killer district they are in, but hopefully they keep it up and are able to keep winning and take it on into the playoffs. BTW, i will be in attendance at the Rice Bowl, so horns, don't let me down, i wont get to watch many this year. (off the subject, but will the tailgate party be there Coop?)

  23. it didnt matter to me that hf lost that bad, it was expected. what is sweet is to see bc lose that bad when you were talking an upset. but yea good luck to wos
  24. not a big suprise. oh well horns, reload and come back ready for next season. to all headed to the playoffs: WOS, Silsbee, and Kirbyville, best of luck to you in your quest for the state championship.
