I have to go with Silsbee in this one. i've been to all of HF games this year having graduated from there, id like to pick them, but i just dont believe they will be able to pull it out. they have had too many injuries to key players. for them to have a chance, the offense will have to get something going, scoring 7 points in 8 quarters will not cut it in this district. hopefully the ol ball coach will have open the playbook up and throw the ball because clark has a pretty good arm. i say the score will be 35-7 favoring silsbee. i know im being harsh to my old school and i hope this isnt the score but i just dont see them getting any closer if they do not incorporate the pass in their playbook. come on horns, prove me wrong please!

dear Mr. Inthestands, first i would like to ask you, where do you sit on friday nights at the hf games? maybe i could absorb some of your vast knowledge and quick wit through osmosis. I am impressed by your fast recall of statistics.

I nominate Chad Landry at Hamshire Fannett----- He has taken a team that was really not even considered in preseason as a playoff contender; a team that does not have colleges "pounding" at the door (one scholarship signee--Joey Johnson), and done the following: Victories over LCM, Jasper, Dayton, Huffman, Woodville, Kelly, Compiled a 20-5 record Tied for 2nd in 24-3A (tiebreaker went to HJ) You don't hear about over powering pitching at HF (there is not an Angelle or Elhert that shuts the opposition down). What you do hear about is good fundamentals, sound defense, and good team play--all the things that reflect good coaching. How can you argue with the stats? Coach Landry should win easily!!!!!!!!!

How about this???? A triple header at Lamar (if available) 20-4A 3rd place vs 24 3A 3rd place (1st game) 20-4A 2nd place vs 24 3A 2nd place (2nd game) LCM vs BC (final game of night) All interested fans could see all the games in one location (gas $3.00/gallon) . Plus it would give fans the opportunity to watch all our local playoff representatives compete. As far as the outcome of the games, I don't think you can "hang your hat" on the outcomes because I believe the coaches will change pitchers frequently, and make coaching decisions based on the type of game that it actually is -warm up- I believe it would be a great ending to an already fun season.
