you realize how dumb this statement is? How is that fair to those guys that have been working and practicing every day?
I am assuming that Tweeter was being sarcastic.
Maybe I shouldn't bring my college football board mentality over here, treading new waters, my apologies of it was a sarcastic post. -
BLUE DOVE, WHY WOULD YOU BE GLAD TO SEE HIM COACHING.I JUST HOPE WE HAVE SOME ONE ELSE IN MIND AND THIS IS NOT LONG TERM.
I'm guessing you don't want a disciplinarian run the team? ::) He'll get the best out of the players that are up there, not to mention he's more than likely already coached each player on that team when they went through the junior high. Actually, don't answer the question, consider it rhetorical (if you know what that means). Just sit on your hands and sulk. It's people with your attitude that does nothing but hurt the morale of the school, team, players, etc. Keep the negativity to yourself. -

They do a great job monitoring for profanity and controversial subjects that have no place on a sports website. I travel a lot with my company and haven't found any website better including sports hotspots like California and Louisiana. Thanks SETX Sports for the great work on what argueably may be the best local sports site in the U.S.
When you say "early 2000's", just how early?
You know, the early 2006's ;)
I don't agree. There is a separation of church and state, period. Pray on your own all you want, but I shouldn't have to listen to it.
They make earplugs for next to nothing, use them. Not like it's hurting you or anyone, hel.l they're even asking for protection over your own (assuming you have one playing). So let me ask, does a moment of silence bother you too? -
Kendrick King- Hamshire Fannett School
horndawg replied to BLUEDOVE3's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I have to agree, King is by far the most athletic kid on the field week in and week out. He can score at any moment of the game, esp. when we gets into space, kinda like that punt return. But not to take anything from how good he is, that group of kids is by far one of the best teams I have seen in a very long time. He gets alot of help from a big offensive line, some already weighing over 200#, and some really good players in the other skill positions. The defense on this team is no push-over either, with a huge D-line and a secondary that doesnt give up any big plays. The weakest point on defense is the line backers and that seems to get better each week. These boys play as a team and compliments each other. I think with the move to 2A next year with a return of a great rivalry between HF and EC, you will see alot of good football in the next few years!!!!!
Where did you get this information? Can you provide a link or your source? -

Good stuff! so what is the playoff picture looking like? -
May this thread live on forever. Heroes are remembered, but Legends never die...and this thread is a legend.

Florida deserves to lose this game. Bases full no outs and you can't get the job done...
Cal wins 7-3 Pretty poor showing for the Texas teams and the Big 12
Couldn't be any worse...is it football season yet?

I'd like to see Hales get a shot at some point, but I haven't gotten to follow them like I usually do, so I dunno if he's injured or just not performing. Eagle, your thoughts/knowledge?
You never know when one of your lesser pitchers can outshine one of your aces. I think it is worth the gamble if you don't allow it to get out of hand. Our ace didn't play well.
Yeah that was a strange sequence, I know he was impressive all the way up until the postseason, can't help but wonder if it had anything to do with the draft or What?
Excellent idea.
Well, that with the hope that the starter didn't get burned before the trouble. All hypothetical, as I said I know the obvious answer, just playing the what-if game. Anyway, I'll retreat into the hole I came out of and wait for football to start. I'll just tryto enjoy the Ags being in Omaha.

The person in the toughest position right now is Childress. Do you take a chance and see if you can beat Cal with a number 3 or 4 and try to save Wacha for the 1-1 game? Or do you go ahead and throw Wacha? I know it's do or die and you have to do what you have to to win, but should he have the confidence in his lineup to outscore Cal? Then if you win against Cal, are somehow able to win th1-1 game against whoever, then have Stripling ready to go the next game. What say you guys?
If a team drops their first game this year, it is going to be dang hard to battle back and win it IMO. I hope the Ags and Horns battle back, but I think the SEC teams are too strong.
Difference between the two though is that UT has been in a lose and you're done situation, the Ags haven't, so it'll definitely be interesting to see how each responds.

I really liked our chances of making it had we won last night, but after losing stilson, I don't know that our bullpen is deep enough to go all the way through the losers bracket...but I sure do hope I'm wrong.

What in the world is going on with Jungmann lately? It's the worst possible time to be slumping, maybe he needs to find him some black horn-rimmed glasses, circa de this guy. [img][Hidden Content]]

Texas A&M vs. Florida St.- Aggies win!!!!

I'm suprised Wacha went back out there for the 8th. He is at 122 pitches now. You would think we would have learned our lesson with Stilson. Severe Weather warning at FSU. Hopefully they can finish the game
Congrats on the win.. Makes no sense to have Wacha pitching in the 8th, in the rain no less. Playing with fire.
I said the exact same thing. I know Childress was going to let him get his 120 in but he ended the 7th at 114, and a 9-2 lead (I believe at the time). Let him rest, the next week is going to be a marathon. Wish I had the time to make a little jog up north and watch how baseball is supposed to be played -

This is the first year in a long time that I remember seeing the Ags win big games in multiple sports in the same sporting year. Things are finally coming around. But for those that only know of the big three sports, A&M has won 13 NCs in the last three years and mens and womens track and field just wind their 3rd consecutive. And to you longhorn fans out there, this is quite a good feeling. Now let's just meet up in the finals and then we'll have some real fun -

We have a rested Wacha and I have no clue what FSU has left. I don't think we'll see the football game we did today. I just hope our sticks come alive. -

I suggest youtubing "Augie flips out", it's quite entertainigng, but don't watch it at work or with little ones around, some foul language. -
Don't believe I'll reply to that!
Ah, all in fun there sam. This Friday should be an interesting night. What I want to know is where are all the haters that were calling for Bryant to come back to BC? Hmm, seems that Landry has put his guys in a pretty good spot to win the district crown. What say you haters? Here's probably what Landry is thinking... ;
