May I show my ignorance or should I say my lack of setxsports experience but what does tt or ttt stand for?
First let me welcome you by saying... ] To help with your question, ttt is to the top (which has been answered for you) but is also analogous to the following... ] Which would be a thread "bump." To get the thread to the top of the page. Also keep in mind that this is a forum, and that means this is the internet which is... ] That concludes your crash course to the interwebs, feel free to ask any questions, but do not be surprised to get a photo if the situations calls for it.

Hey Refs there should be a new system

Or better yet, lets make it a rule that all refs must sit in the stands because so much more can be seen from there....... PS: I am not a ref
dawg you make a good point. But I'm not a Ref because I know I'd blow it...often. So, if I pay to watch a game that my kid or kids I've known their entire life I do expect the best effort possible from the Refs that are GETTING PAID. Now I do understand that there will be mistakes, thats part of it and as a player you play through it, but it does seem that the last few years there has been a turn for the worse concerning officiating. I have seen one Ref basically call the whole game from all over the floor and some Refs think they must blow the whistle to seem as if their doing their job...I dont have the answer but if you spend much time watching BB its obvious that the quality is going down. If Ive got to man up and call a game before I can state an opinion than we must all serve as President before we voice our opinion concerning our country...I know, a bit of a stretch but just making a point...JMO
Don't have a problem with people stating there opinion, but just like voicing your opinion concerning our country, if your not willing to get involved in making changes in things you are concerned about, then quit griping.....JMO as well -

Hamshire Fannett-Rebuilding Year?
horndawg replied to BLUEDOVE3's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
HF was a football powerhouse during the 70's, 80's and 90's. Nobody anywhere wanted to play them. When Coach Tarver left a few years ago, a proven winning coach (Paul Walker) came in and HF went to the playoffs his first year. Then 21-3A was redistricted and HF found themselves playing schools much bigger. HF's then Supt. (Marianne Condo) did a behind the scenes hatchet job on Paul Walker. She then hired Walt Mangan who only had two years head coaching experience (1-9 and 3-7). She hired this guy totally against the wishes of the community. As a result, Ms. Condo was strongly urged to retire.
Glad to see you have no clue what you're talking about. Everyone that has read this post is now dumber for having done so. Where do I start? First, Walker did NOT make playoffs his first year, as he took the helm of the 2002 season, and HF missed the playoffs, he made it in his 2nd year against BH. Then, in the 3rd year, realignment happened, HF went 5-5 and missed the playoffs, then 3-6 in '05, and then something about the same in '06, missing the playoffs again. To say "behind the scenes" is totally off track and there were 5 years to do what needed to be done. Now, I'm not slamming Walker, as I liked him as a person and he was a great AD over all sports, just had a bad run in football. You obviously don't remember how many of the "fans" were up in arms about getting a new coach back in those days. Get your head outta your arse and get your facts straight. She may have taken part in the Mangan hire, but to blame the total lack of success on her is plain stupidity, as I'm sure she was more worried about other aspects of Academia than she was about football, such as Exemplary Campuses across the entire school. One more thing, Mangan did go 5-5 in his first year, missed playoffs, but still went 5-5. You sir, need to realize that spewing this type of crap on here isn't helping in the effort to get behind the school for the one day when it will finally make its comeback in football. -

WOW...practically unheard of from PNG fans.
NO IT'S NOT! They always leave when it "looks" like we are going to lose. Most sat on their hands the entire night. [".... but my son has told me this is his last year of playing school ball because he is tired of having to participate like everyone else and not getting the same treatment as the A teamers.

Seriously? You actually think that my son and all these other B teamers are strictly just participating? I wouldn't call sweating their butts off at practice for two or more hours a day & then trying their best come game day "participating." You need to get a clue!
What planet do you live on? Athletics is about competition, not same treatment just because you go to practice. [img][Hidden Content]]

I heard today that the 3A district games are going to all be regular clock. I think it was both b games 6 minute quarters, the 7a game 7 minute quarters and the 8a game 8 minute quarters. No running clocks.
Thank goodness! I always hated running clocks in any games!
So you don't have a problem with the kids playing in the last game getting home at 11:00pm or later on a school night (especially 7th & 8th graders)?

Strongend, I hate to disagree with you. But what do you mean by limited coaches? The same coaches that work with the A team work with the B teams. And as far as sites and officials, are you saying we don't have enough money for that? Please.
Thank you VNUPE - it is the same coaches & what does it matter if they coach four games one night or two games on two different nights. Also the officiating excuse doesn't fly either - I work with two officials that have each officiated for over twenty years a piece & they said that's how it used to be - games on both Tuesday & Thursday night. I know nothing is going to change this year since the schedules are already in place, but my son has told me this is his last year of playing school ball because he is tired of having to participate like everyone else and not getting the same treatment as the A teamers.
I believe the answer may lie in this one word.........athletics is about competition, not participation. In other words, if you want to play in a game with a regulation clock, then work hard to make the A team. As I see it, the "B" games are designed to give the kids, that go to practice, an opportunity to play and get some experience in game situations and to keep their interest up. If not for the "B" games, many kids would practice all week and then sit on the bench all game or get very limited playing time (much less playing time than a game with a running clock).
