trying to catch up. what happened to BuddyGarrity
Stattrax replied to jimbob82's topic in High School Football
I have not seen many malicious posts on my time here. I take everyone as sarcastic and facetious. If one was to get upset over every little snide remark, I do think that individual would be upset at this computer screen day in day out... Everyone has there own opinion and that is what makes this board interesting. But IMO, the threads stay going because of these very remarks this post is talking about. I have never had a issue with any post B.G. has made. He has sat with me at games before. But I am sure my opinion is different from others. But this thread is on its 4th page. That should say something...... I have personally seen threads that myself and BG rib people on go 20+++ pages.. Only time will tell if those long threads go without him or myself ribbing anymore..... -
I want a lunch with this guy if PNG wins...................

Every forum needs DIVERSITY... If not, you end up with a dead forum like many others already have... So in reality you need the rah rahs, the mommas, the old timers, the proud daddys, the no knowledge internet warriors, the educated x players, and the pot stirrers.. Trust me, without DIVERSITY, the single groups get old rather quick... -
Agreed... I firmly believe to announce you should have a good knowledge of the game.. That's not the case in this situation...

Pretty much the story... Jim Barton tried for years to land a corporate sponsor, but just never worked out.. We sponsored every year, but it taked more than small donations to run that type of outfit... Was awesome while it lasted.... Good guy... -
Just a little info on him.. Hes a good dude. Not a football mind. I think he tries real hard, obviously a little to hard when it comes to #22. I think he would be good alongside someone that has knowledge of the game. They both struggle with formations and situational football. So my guess is that is why they decide to talk about whatever most of the game. Which for a football fan is not enjoyable when you want to get a picture of the game. But, I guess its better than nothing if you cannot attend the game. He is a die hard fan, and has good intentions...

From my understanding, the FNE could not get any type of network deal. Its rather expensive to run a operation of that magnitude. I think they went through every available avenue, but without a network, and corporate funding, it was just to much for local sponsors to pay the bill... The reason the mid county teams aired alot is because of the local sponsors supporting FNE. -
I have talk to several of the defensive kids... Hard preparation.. We are the underdog to the might Pirates... They are all preparing for the speed and accuracy of the Vidor offense. I have a feeling we will be prepared. Looks like the offense is in good shape. All the starters are healthy.

I only litter in one town............ -
BG should have plenty of time now for us. He is no longer a SETX member... That should free up about 1300 texts per half....

I owe you lunch for that one 14.2....... Mathews runs the slot for one reason.. Its the best offense to run for smaller, less talented teams.. That is not a knock, just a fact.. Google would verify that I am sure. Since I have been asked to keep my name calling to a minimum, I will stick to the facts. IMO, the slot is one dimensional.. If its is ineffective for Vidor during any game, there chances of winning that game are slim to none.. However, if it is effective, there chances of winning are around 33% usually.. A few years I am sure the averages are higher.. I honestly do not think PNG will stop Vidor cold in there tracks. I do think they will slow them down enough to put themselves in a position to win the game. Just like any game Vidor plays against a spread team.. If for some reason PNG gets up on them, they will need to have the ability to score quick.. Ball control is not going to be able to get it done... But if they can pound the rock and keep it close, they have the ability to win. I think PNG playing at home helps tremendously.. I think history helps tremendously... And I think the fact that noone is overlooking Vidor at this point is the last piece of the puzzle... Any other year besides the 4 or 5 in the history, these games are overlooked as stat builders.. But at this time, its do or die.. Ill take my chances with ole Fairclothe on this one.... He is going to do whatever needs to be done to win this game IMO.... I say it all the time about PAM... Its alot easier to coach when you have the best athletes on the field... And I think PNG has the better athletes in this one.. No stats, or histories, just 11 on 11... Strap em up... I know for one the PNG kids are ready for this one, think your going to see a lil SWAG.......
-
The shortcoming of the Vidor offense, is that its one dimensional.. Nederland was out of time outs in the Overtime period when VIdor lined up in the I formation... I just do not see Vidor coming out with nothing more than a few options if they get behind, which in that case, PNG should be ready for the possibility... However, if they can pound the rock and control clock, they have a good chance of maintaining momentum and winning the game. PNG on the other hand will need to play its A game for 4 quarters.. Vidor will need to to stop RJ... Im not quite sure they can do that, unless their front can get pressure with 4.... If they decide to blitz gaps, it will leave the PNG receivers in a favorable position...

This is going to be a tough one for Chumperton IMO. They play blue collar defense, but just can not match the speed of PAM. PAM will be a little to much for the caboose riders at this stage of the game.. I would think X box has the starters out relatively early, more than likely the whole second half.. PAM is loaded with speed, which is going to give everyone fits... They made Central look slow.... And Central has some very good athletes as well....
-
He is actually a great guy, just not much of a football mind.. They struggle with the most important part of the broadcast, and that is announcing the game. But you have to give him credit, he tries extremely hard... Especially for 1 certain player....
-
Strap em up and play... Good teams wants to play the best competition, win or lose..... PAM is legit, and good for the district..... Only going to get better by playing them....... This ain't momma ball.......
-
PAM wins the district with ease... 2nd place will be determined this week at the Rez..... 3rd place will be decided this week at the Rez..... Nederland or Central get the last spot..... PAM does not lose a game in district play... No team has the athletes to compete... Way to many weapons.... They would have competed this year in their old 6A district.... If Vidor wins this week, they are a lock for the 2 seed with only 1 loss to PAM. If PNG wins they get in the show, but Nederland has our number, and until BF actually beats them, I'll just chalk it up as a loss... Central will be a big test as well... I can see as many as 4 district losses, but I can also see only 1 loss, if we get on our A game... Which honestly, I have not seen... everybody should take a look at Central, with losses to PAM and Vidor, everyone wrote them off... I was at the PAM/Central game... They played a decent game considering how bad Nederland played against PAM... I can see Central making the playoffs as the 3 or 4.... It all just depends on how it shakes out... But I think those 4 or the locks, PAM a lock at the 1, the other 3 fighting it out.. Vidor has the inside track to the 2 even with a loss to PNG, simply because PNG has not played meaningful games yet... If Vidor wins they lock in the 2... If PNG loses to Vidor, PAM, Nederland, they will duke it out with those 2 for the final spots... However if PNG beats Vidor, I think Vidor still has a inside trac on the 2 unless PNG wins out minus a loss to PAM.... Simply becasue LN owns BF.... it's all a bit confusing, but I still think those 4 are locks... Best educated guess.... PAM Vidor PNG Central/Nederland if Nederland has to forfeit, it's going to be tough......
-
I will stand by what I said before PAM-Nederland... No team will play PAM within 21 points in district play... They will run the table.....
