Title pretty much sums it up. Any chance we'll eventually see divisions come to basketball?

Nederland/United Scrimmage?

Overall ability encompasses all other variables, so this has to be what you judge the best player by. I'm not trying to make a lineup, cause I'm not picking positions, you have to pick 1 guy to build your team around. Who ya got? I'll be honest as well, and this will probably hurt some feelings but its just my opinion, I don't see how your college recruitment has no say in your ability as a high school player. Don't give me "potential" either because colleges aren't giving away scholarships based on how good you might be. Might be an unpopular opinion but oh well. -

Hard to say that the best player in the area not playing wouldn't have mattered 🤔 -

KEN STANLEY NAMED NEW COLDSPRING-OAKHURST AD/HFC
OverTheBack replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
The two people I am referring to are women and have no ties whatsoever to the athletic programs. In my conversations with them about the sports debacle they informed me that the administrative/educational side was a piece of work as well. It's more so on the school as a whole, not just the athletic dept. I'll say it again, from an outsiders perspective, it's a zoo over there. -

I saw what he had to coach as well, great talent and I knew at the beginning of the season they were going to make some noise but talent doesn't make up for a lack of mental toughness....and several of those kids had none. -

The debacle of their basketball team for one. Also I know two people who've worked in admin over there and have heard stories from them. I'll just say this too, from an outsiders perspective, someone will pick up this job but there may be a reason as to why there aren't many applicants. -

2019 Homeruns....... Varsity only please
OverTheBack replied to Critter's topic in High School Baseball
Well old man, I believe this is the response I was hoping not to get...cause I think this is where I have to part ways my senile friend. Posting ridiculous stuff on this website and getting away with it only because your excuse is you're "old", that's called abusing a privilege. Have fun hiding your own Easter eggs lol. (to save you the time of having to look that one up, lol means laugh out loud...not lots of love) -

Enlighten me old man...how am I assuming anything other than you thinking that the fields at smaller schools are smaller than at larger schools? -

OverTheBack replied to Critter's topic in High School Baseball
It's difficult to find stats for high school sports so that's why I mentioned the College level. I had found on MaxPreps (I know it's not the best but it's as credible and good as it's gonna get for high school stats) the leader in the state of Texas has 11 homeruns for the spring of 2019 and he is enrolled at Colleyville Heritage which is 5A....the kid in 2nd has 10 and is enrolled at Lake Travis, both of which are larger schools and have more HRs than anyone mentioned on our SETX website. For old man. To address the field size, bigger schools don't have bigger fields...that's gotta be the silliest thing I've ever heard. You make it seem as if the smaller schools play on TBall fields that are 100ft shorter than your average high school field. -

Very little correlation to the level of baseball and number of homeruns. If that were the case then the leader in NCAA homeruns each year would play division III baseball. -

At this point in the season you gotta go with what got you to SA and if that's full court pressure then don't throw it out the window for one game. -
I'd be interested to hear peoples thoughts on this. I will say no, but am open to hear why some think it is.
