It's a shame, and borderline sad, that an adult (and I use that term loosely) stalks these threads in anticipation for a 15 year old kid to have an off night or just not show up. What's got you so butt-hurt about this kid that people feel like they need to give you his stats every night, or you go and find them yourself after you find out they have a 20 pt final. Get outta your feelings and get outta here son. Take your keyboard and go somewhere else.

Somewhat not related, as far as SETX basketball goes, but just browsing through the districts and looking at travel for teams....6 - 2A, Iraan to El Paso Da Vinci, 302 miles, 4h 18m......for a district basketball game!

Respectfully disagree. Better teams play a better non-district schedule, facts. As far as bench kids getting good experience, being on varsity doesn't guarantee you playing time. Coaches of teams like that have a solid 8 maybe 9 man rotation. If you're not part of that then chances are you're a 30/30 player. What "good experience" is a kid going to get anyway by getting playing time when they're up by 30+? And you can't work on any and every situation with a soft schedule, kids won't know how to play in close games and understand the value of every defensive and offensive possession. All in all, it makes no sense to butter a kid up in pre-season and then throw them to the wolves come district and playoffs, where the level of competition gets tougher every week.

Maybe not an upset, but definitely surprised at the margin. I didn't see a 10+ victory happening. Don't care about the football excuse, it's been nearly a month and you know those kids pick up the roundball on the weekends during football.

One of those 3 you mentioned will have to get past PCA second round. Going to be tough.

Have they scheduled any 1A games? I saw the San Augustine game but they're no regular lil ole 2A. It really doesnt make a bit of sense for either team to play each other. Neither make any sort of gain from it and how awful would I feel as a coach of Newton to have one of my kids get injured in a game against K-ville were we knew we'd win by 40+. Coaches are judged by win-loss, and you can't argue that one bit, I'm sorry...so scheduling this game would be senseless. Just my 2cents

SETX rankings

Coming from someone who has no ties to either side and was just checking in after the weekend to see the result of this series, after reading the Silsbee v BC threads, but both sides were way out of line. Grown men acting like kids, both sides. It was hard to read and quite embarrassing. Most notably and tasteless, IMO, was the absurd $500 bet placed after someone claimed their team would win the series. If I get banned or whatever by the moderators then so be it, this forum has gone downhill fast and its sad to see. Definitely enjoy getting on here to get caught up on scores and such.
