Good story on Aledo''s head coach Tim Buchanan. Couldn't buy a game in his first few years. He has coached Aledo for 21 yrs. and has won state titles in 1998, 2009, 2010, and 2011. Three years back to back. none of us can boast that! They are always in the top 10 rankings. Hard for any of us to have that kind of patience with a young coach....and I am guilty as anyone...

Lol.. I definitely don't want to get in the BF, MB war.. I'm kinda like 75, I'll give it straight when the season is over.. Back to the game.... If PNG stays balanced, I think it will be a game. If we don't show the ability to run and have to air it out 40 times we could be in for a long night. The last time Dayton beat us the field goal kicker was unreal... Made a few from over 50. So I'm not sure how that will factor in as well. Defensively we will need to play good assignment football for 4 full quarters. To me, the weather means absolutely nothing.. Rain, sleet, snow, or hail, it's game on when the anthem is over....Period..... BF might have to pull out a few tricks to keep momentum, but I'm fine with that.. Now, I'm not saying onside kick it with 8 minutes left in the 3rd, I'm saying gadget plays, to keep us moving if we stall. If so, it could be interesting. I wouldn't count PN-G out just yet...

At least we will have tread on the tires. :D

I love BF as a Coach.  i really do.  He's my favorite PNG coach since Danny Malone.  Sometimes he makes boneheaded decisions but his offense is fun to watch when it's clicking. 
I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Burnett back running the Defense only.  Why not?  He's not doing much these days is he? He's a hell of a defensive coach.  

I couldn't have said it better myself. It appears you have a pretty good football IQ.... Not the rah-rah type. I hope we pull out the W, this is a young team, that will improve in the future.... I know all these kids and am proud of all of them... I say we go out in all white, jerseys, helmets, pants, and lay it all on the field. And I agree BF is a good coach.......

22-5a teams do not have a problem putting up numbers. Our defenses need to man up and leave a mark on 21!!!! Having a good offense is only half the battle...any one of the four of our teams can win this weekend by playing aggressive and smart d. ...as far the rain...oh yeah...png's one rainy game this year was very productive. Sick of hearing about the sweep from west of the Trinity!

PNG can ground pound too. And if needing to Morse can run. Very well . Big strong horse ! Who knows what a rain plan might look like but I still bet they score on top to Sparks even in a monsoon. PNG 31 - 27.

+1...He played for PNG and really cares for the team. (You can tell by some of the lenghty posts) He speaks his mind and doesn't sugar coat anything...he has always said that BF is a good coach. We all have our own opinions and what makes this site so enjoyable to read. At least he's not another obnoxious footballer06!!!!!!

I couldnt agree more.. Thats why if you read my earlier post it details, curls, slants, screens, etc.. If i was a DC today against PNG, I would jump in a 50, man up bump and run, and bring havoc, and wait and see if PNG adjusts... I like W's.. I dont care if its a 3-0 game or 54-53 game.. 75 ill give my age away as well.  My senior year we ran the ball dang well.. Went into the Nederland game, and they loaded the box up and dared us to run, my cousin was a heck of a d end for Nederland that year.. (only All District pick they had). Guess what we did, threw the ball the whole game after the first series... And guess what, low and behold we set a record... 7 TD's thrown by Musser in that game... Thats how you make and break records.. Its spur of the momet, make an adjustment and bam...  If your QB is struggling, thats fine, run the ball.  We have a million formations, load in in a 3 TE set and pound it to open up the pass.... Also to the MB post earlier.. Say what you want to say.... The man cared about the kids and took us to the big dance..... Long only threw for 3000 yards in 99 becasue we has a balanced attack... Ill take that anyday of the week over 7-4 and a few new records... Im not bad mouthing BF becasue i think hes a good coach, just giving my opinion.. Right now I think we are very predictable...

I like the way Nederland is running it with two backs in the backfield, adds a dimension where you can still play some power football, just running it out of the spread.  It's been much more effective than the single back spread a lot of teams run.
