I think sometimes as serious fans we forget that this is all about the kiddo's. God bless all of them who work their rear's off to make their school and community's proud.  To the players you all make us proud!!!!!!   Best of luck tonight to all of you!!!

Lord, we ask for hedge of protection around these young men taking the field, and for all the fans, drill teams, bands, and cheerleaders, traveling to and from the games. Give these young men courage to do their very best at what they have been trained to do and play to the very best of their abilities. To play the game with honor, dignity, integrity, and respect for their opponent. To play the game with a clear mind and a strong spirit. Help us to be gracious losers and even more gracious winners. I can kinda understand what you saying, but I am sure Coach Suggs seen the mounds of you know what he had to step through. I also understand what you saying about the freshman team, but here is where i disagree. The varsity squad has all the coaching it needs to succeed. From what i saw was no motivation from each other as players, and none from the coaching staff. In a winning program the last guy has to feel, or made to be felt as he is as valued as your star player. Each teammate has to have each other back in battle, instead of me first attitude. Ozen has the talent every year, if they add unity I bet you the challenge every year. This JMO not knocking anyone, the players has to realize their value, with the push from their coaches.

HJ fans will not rush the field Coach Dubois would NOT be happy about that. They will gather at the track and greet the boys after their STUDENT LED prayer at the middle of the field.

Indians and Jaguars playing for the JV district championship tonight. Hopefully that is who is playing for the Varsity championship next year...

I have lived near HJ for 30 yrs. My son played for HJ in the 90's. My job is near Sour Lake. But dang it....every time I cut myself...purple runs out!!! Lol! Good luck to the Hawks SFA. I imagine those late to the game will have a looonnng walk...and an even longer drive home for the ones who lose.

Not a lot of smack talk on this thread from either side...either the loss from Nederland has humbled us both a bit, snapping us both back into reality, or it's just respect given for the opponent we are facing....but anyway you look at it...crow doesn't taste worth a crap!

Just to clarify my posts... I was actually jabbing at the Crosby guys...
I don't usually bring up all the past stuff, but I figured with all the mouthing from those guys I would take a jab.. I have honestly looked up all of the Crosby stats.. From playoffs to % of wins since the school has been around.. Nothing special.. PNG, Nederland, WOS, etc, hell even TJ are all in the top of all the categories... That being said I'm just stating the obvious.. I like to mess with low IQ football minds... We at PNG are always mistaken for arrogant you know what's.. WOS is as well, along with some Nederland fans... However arrogance and tradition are 2 different things. It's easy to see by all the likes I receive on my posts that people enjoy good info.. It's also easy to see what folks just run a little to much jibber jabber.... Or in my terms... Are just inexperienced at winning... If people did not care about tradition, the movie Friday Night Lights would have never come around.. Last I looked PNG/NED was being talked about on National TV.... That's not arrogant statement, just a fact... So after a few posts about Crosby stats all I received was low IQ statements, kinda like a momma joke form a kid... At the end of the day everyone on this board knows 1 thing..... Some just don't measure up to the rest.... I won't throw any names out, but you all know... 1 article, a few wins, a few playoff appearances.... Last I looked they take about 4 a district for the playoffs.. Not 1 or 2 like back in the day.... But like I said to clarify, I was just bringing up all the past to simply get a rise out of them... Because at the end of the day, they have nothing to offer but negative remarks.... Like I said some call it arrogance, I simply call it Tradition.. And I will always have the numbers to back it up..... Now I'll crawl back into my town the size of a dot and look for a passing Isle of Capri bus needing directions.... Peace......

I find it funny that some Crosby people LOVE to say how they have owned Nederland in the past few years.
Then when someone does the same thing to them Crosby they say why bring up the past for it does not matter.
 
I explained earlier how I felt KING was the better team with the speed and talent they have right now. Next thing I know I am jumped on and the Dogs are not worth spit because Crosby beat them in preseason. Do not see the connection but hey I am from a dot on the map too.
 
Stat brings up the past about all the titles PN-G has won in their storied history and Crosby say that does not matter, but I bet top dollar they wish they had them. Then we look at which of these teams have made deep playoff runs the last 10 years and low and behold we see Dayton and Nederland several times. So what does this tell us not a damn thing. Only those were some good teams.
 
 Now so far this year King looks to be the team to beat  but Crosby is looking to knock them out.
Then over on our side of the tracks Nederland has gone from 0-3 preseason to 5-0 in District and looking for fourth Undefeated District Title. So what does this mean for the playoffs not a damn thing.
 
Now until any one of these teams wins state this year then it means they were not as good as the team that beat them
.
So may GOD BLESS all these young men and keep them healthy.

I think Central will score to go ahead by two, go for a PAT that gets blocked, goes straight up in the air, bounces off a player's helmet and into one of our few fast kid's hands, who then runs it back for a two-point conversion to tie the game up with 43 seconds left on the clock. Then we go into double overtime and win by a field goal.

What if Central scored on that 4th down...what if PNG tied the game on that 4th down and sent the game into OT. Truth is neither happened and Nederland just flat out beat us both. Hundreds of games every year end up with a pile of excuses and what ifs. I'm guilty as anyone on second guessing the games, the coaching or the officiating. Time to move on and this game should tell if Central or PNG are playoff ready. I'm going to have to go with my boys on this one. PNG 35, Central 27.
