  1. Just heard about the Kingwood situation. I am curious on how the extra curricular sports are gonna play out.
  2. There will be some schools that probably won't play for a couple of weeks. And some schools won't play a home game for awhile I would bet. I just saw where Rockport is basically telling kids they should go ahead and enroll in other schools because it's going to be so long before their district is up and running.
  3. Ok so not to be a downer on the page but I'm beginning to wonder if many of these local district will be ready for the second week. Cleveland is almost completely under water.
  4. Teams can still fill their bye with a game. Seems like there will be a lot of options depending on who has your same bye week. However not all schools are willing to give up their bye week. I hope most will so those seniors don't miss out on a game.
  5. Cleveland isd just cancelled school for this whole week. I'm assuming the game for Friday is cancelled as well.
  6. Cleveland is closed Monday. According to Crosby ISD's Facebook, they are closed through 9/5.
  7. Yeah he had a helluva scrimmage as well. Now that they have a legit threat at wideout maybe it will allow for a more balanced and explosive offense. Either way I'm excited for Friday night football! Let's pray everyone is safe during this hurricane and that it clears out so the games don't get disrupted like last season.
  8. Wow! Looks even better the second time seeing it. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Cleveland had 4 or 5 TDs from over 50 out. That QB is fast! The tall receiver that moved back had 2 TDs, both were amazing effort on his part. This group may not be the stoutest defensively but dang they can score from anywhere on the field. It's gonna be exciting to watch. I think the defense gave up only one TD.
  11. Observation from Clevelands scrimmage is that they have the most explosive skill players they've had in years. They aren't small but not huge up front. They moved down the field with ease every drive but kept making mistakes that stalled the drive once they got inside the 30. If they can stop shooting themselves in the foot they could light up the scoreboard this season.
  12. A very short scrimmage. Cleveland scored twice but turned the ball over a couple of times. Anahuac got a few first downs but that was all. Field looked great!
  13. Drill team, cheerleaders, band, soccer, football and I'm sure some other organizations I'm forgetting about use that turf field.
  14. Clevelands enrollment will be between 1400 & 1500.
  15. I believe both games were within 7-10 points at half. They really just fell apart after halftime. That's why I said they felt closer. I think at least 10 of this years seniors are returning for their 3rd year on varsity. This is supposed to be a really talented group of kids.
  16. Cleveland @ Huffman The last 2 years this game has felt close but youth and depth has hampered the Indians. This years seniors are the most talented group since Cleveland was consistently going to the playoffs. If they want to return they need to win this game and & 1 more.
  17. Some get it and others are stuck in the mindset that it was good enough before so why change. Also, some see it as giving new stuff to the new growth in population which isn't the colors Cleveland is used too. Sad but true.
  18. Some people around town still think that the school spends too much on athletics.

  20. Looks like Cleveland is trying to update their facilities to match their growth. This was a must with them going 5A after next year. That field can't handle any water.
  21. Cleveland goes 4-1 non-district & 3-2 in district. 7-4
  22. I've heard of schools hiding kids in the Alternative School for years. Then when Livingston got caught, I just assumed that they were the ones that got caught for doing something that a lot of schools do. After reading this article it seems that they got punished for doing something that others have been caught doing. Pretty crazy that the UIL ruled that 2 schools doing the same thing were in compliance with policies.
  23. The best way to avoid getting injured is to specialize in your own sport because everyone knows you can't get hurt just playing your sport year round. (Sarcasm)
  24. Saw someone make a good point about moving the cutoff for 5A up to balance the two divisions. I wonder what teams in the area will possibly drop down if the cutoff goes up to 1200 or 1300?
  25. Not sure of the exact score but heard it was Cleveland by almost 30.
