  1. Apparently many of you can't seem to understand the posts on here... Never once have we stated that we are not proud of our boys or coaches for what they have done.. They worked hard all season in all types of weather conditions just like the other teams have. We are not accusing refs or the other team of cheating. What happened was a ref inadvertantly blew his whistle on a play that would have resulted in a touchdown. What should have happened, an official time out should have been called to discuss the issue rather than allowing 4 mins to run off the clock, and by the rules, the Vidor coach had the option to have the ball placed where it was at the time the whistle was blown which would have resulted in a first down, or to replay the down from the original spot. This is not what happened, the ball was placed at the original spot. All we are stating is the rules were not followed which did result in a game changing event... No one knows what would or would not have happened if the ball was spotted at the point when the whistle was blown. And yes, we all know that it's just little League, and they are just 5 and 6, but we also know how important it was for these kids no matter what age... I'm sorry if you don't have a child playing at this level and think it's a waste of time, we do not. We are not asking for anyone to give up any trophies or anything like that. The beaumont boys played hard for it as well and I am sure worked as hard as the rest too. We just didn't like the way things happened because rules weren't followed whether it was intentional or not. That's all
  2. Well I know for a fact at the playoffs prior to the superbowl there were already parents from bulldogs making disrespectful comments about our team and they were standing right behind me. Coaches were heard making the loser comments along with their players and that's actually what upset our kids more than anything was being called losers by the other team... And I really don't want to talk about the coach from the beaumont team on our sideline who stated how he was embarrassed to be part of that organization because of the way they were playing. I'm sorry that I have stated facts on here about what rules weren't followed and it comes down to stuff like this.
  3. So if you get beat "fairly" as you seem to think it was... I'm assuming you also agree with your team and coaches calling our boys losers after the game... That was one game, remember, we both actually have the same record... And when we won the division championship ours respectfully shook hands and said good game... It's an all around education for these young boys, play by the rules, be good sports and respect the other team no matter what... Didn't see that from the other side but if you feel good about the outcome I'm happy for you
  4. Not whining on this end... If you beat me fair that's fine and we take the loss, but when you see these young kids work as hard as they do and literally have a game taken away from them because rules are not followed then yes I have a problem with it. As stated before, there were many specific rules that were violated in this game and it's just sad that there are some out there that can't be fair at the 4-6 yr old age range
  5. I know for a fact our coaches drill it into our boys head that we only say good game whether we win or lose...several of our kids came back telling the coaches the other team (bmt) called them losers and we're upset. For the most part maybe the refs called a fair game... Except when You inadvertently blow your whistle the team with the ball has the option of getting the ball where it was when the whistle was blown which would have been the 15 yrd line... We didn't get that option and while the bmt coach and refs discussed this issue the clock kept running... Several times when refs had conferences the clock kept running and shouldn't have... At the 2 min time frame the clock is supposed to stop at different events in the game and didn't..and when you have a game won, you don't have your kids sit down on the field only to stand up for the last second to run off... Just line up and drop to a knee that's the sportsmanship thing to do... Trust me, there is way more than this
  6. Well I was in the stands on the Vidor side and never heard any racial remarks but if there were that's very unfortunate... And though I agree that mistakes are made, but rules still have to be followed and they werent
  7. Vidor lost, had a td taken away because a ref inadvertently blew his whistle because he thought Vidor boy that scored got his flag pulled but didn't... Vidor didn't get the ball spotted where it should have been spotted, refs made them play it over where it originally started which is not what the rules state. This was just one of many discrepancies in the game but our boys fought hard and played their hearts out only to be called losers by the other team when shaking hands after the game... Great sportsmanship beaumont bulldogs
  8. Vidor flag black beat Vidor white 37-13 and then beat png white 25-6 to advance to the superbowl
  9. I apologize for the override the board comment, that was meant as a joke and I wouldn't ask anyone to do anything underhanded like that...since this seems to be causing so much trouble then I will stop and we will just play in Kountze...I was actually trying to good for the flag division and actually help out with game times not going so late in the evening...again, my apologies
  10. All some of the parents would like is for flag division to be able to play their superbowl at a nice stadium like they had planned originally...don't see the harm in that....
  11. Last year the flag division got to play their superbowl at Lamar also...we aren't wanting to change the pro bowl or cheer competition from Kountze, just want the superbowl to be special for these young kids in flag that have worked just as hard as the older kids.
  12. I have sent an email to the president and vice president od STJFL this morning asking if there is any way possible to get the 2 flag division superbowl games held at PNG's stadium. I'm not asking to move the cheer competition and pro bowl games from Kountze because that wouldn't be fair to Kountze, I just want the kids in flag to have the experience of a lifetime on a field like PNG for the most important game of their season. I asked if money was the issue with the league, would they allow the flag division to raise the money to pay for the facility and the refs. I explained that if we even just took up a collection for each kid on the 4 teams going to the superbowl it would only be a little over $10 a kid...heck at this point I'm ready to pay the fee out of my own pocket so my stepson has an experience playing on a field like this, if they make it to the superbowl. Looking at the teams in the playoff brackets that have a chance to go to the superbowl, if each team has 20 players and we collect just $3 per kid, that would give us $1080 roughly. I was told at one point that the PNG facility would cost $650 which would leave $430...plenty I would think to cover officials. We can always adjust the amount if we needed more. I am willing to head this up to make it happen if I get a response from the president and VP. Would all of you be interested in making this happen as well?
  13. sorry that should have said override the stjfl board and do it ourselves
  14. I agree with you playball, we have 22 kids on our flag team, if the 4 teams going to the superbowl collect about $250 each it looks like we would have enough to pay for the facility and refs possibly... I mean for us it would be a little more than $10 per kid. Maybe we should override the stjfl board and don't ourselves, but the vp is from PNG so I'm sure that wouldn't work out too well
