I was just wondering how is a athlete nominated for this award? Does their coach have to nominate then they have a committee who decides by stats? Again just wondering...for future reference! Congratulations to the winners this year!!!

I just went back and looked at THSB & THSBCA and neither one of them have Thorndale ranked in the top 10 as of their last polls. I've looked at who they have played and I believe they have had a district like our Rebels! So they are probably about even with us! I would like to find out more about their pitching though!

Many obviously don't know about the pitching staff we have! We have been blessed this year!!!

I saw the Hamm kid pitched as well against Big Sandy and he has to be BC # 1 pitcher, he can throw! So BS did see good pitchers that night, and still won! Just saying....

I've saw many baseball games and you never know whose gonna show up! Evadale beat Woodville 15-3 yesterday and I know Woodville beat Silsbee earlier, but I'm sure both bigger schools were having a bad game each time. That's always the reason, when a smaller very good quality ,non-typical small school wins. Smaller schools rarely get props for having great pitching, or catching and hitting. This is 2017 things have changed. IMO

Yes our Evadale team isn't your typical 2A team nor is Big Sandy! We have pitchers & catchers that can pitch& catch against big teams and our defense is solid. Bigger schools aren't the only ones with Big talent anymore! We have several who play summer ball and compete with or against 4, 5 & 6A players . So that makes a difference!

Great job ! Big Sandy! Theres 2 teams in 25 2A that are not your average 2A team, Big Sandy and Evadale! They can hang with the bigger schools, they have pitchers that can pitch against the big schools! They aren't your average Pitchers for 2A ! Big talent isn't always at the big schools anymore! Proud of the 2A guys, don't underestimate these 2 teams!

Yea just can't wait to see who the Rebels will get in 2nd round of playoffs, after the our first round ! I'm already predicting win on 1st round lol , but that 2nd round they really give it to us , not only in baseball but football too! Ugh!!

Your absolutely correct and does nothing for either team! Wish there was more competitive teams in this district, because it effects the teams in the playoffs when we play another team that can compete! Not use to having to step it up a notch! It is what it is!
