Worked with an Engineer who went to a school around Houston. In HS he said he was 210 & played linebacker. Played Tyler (Earl Campbell) in playoffs. Lol, for sure. If you’ve read the above post about Sparky Robinson, Worster was similar. He looked (ran) big at BC & UT but I met him & he was just average size. Seems sometimes Mother Nature takes an average size person & gives them extraordinary abilities and strength.

Playing at Rebel field, Evadale should win this one comfortably. The new Coach at Evadale seems to have the kids playing well.

As has been pointed out several times, Vidor wears down the defenses in the 4th Quarter. LCM will want a cushion going into the fourth. If it’s close then, slight advantage Vidor. Like several Pirate games, this could be decided by who scores last. LCM is probably the best team Vidor has faced so far this year. Melon is correct, the Pirate offense needs to be hitting on all cylinders. Vidor’s best defense is keeping the Bear offense off the field. The LCM passing attack will be eating up yards like Pac-Man. The Pirate defense needs to get a pick or two. And for sure, no turnovers by the Pirate offense. If Vidor loses the turnover numbers, they most likely lose the game. Going to be a good one.

Sparky was a beast. On the program I think they had him at 190 or 195 but he probably was more like 180-185. I think there was only one kid listed at 200 or better. Of course kids weren’t as huge then as they are now. Sparky didn’t see all that well. Heard one man say he’d get in the opposing backfield & grab several backs and throw the ones away that didn’t have a ball 😂. His Dad, and several uncles, were all ironworkers and all incredibly strong, and all really good folks. Very active in LL and Babe Ruth baseball, and a big reason the LL was started in Vidor. His older cousin, Rusty Morgan, got a scholarship to Rice as a DL. One of his Uncles made All State at French (DL) in the early 50’s and Coached me in Babe Ruth.

If you were referring to the MSM, that’s a pretty conservative estimate. I also like the word Media to describe them, for too many have abandon any pretense at being a News Organization. As we all know, many are openly propaganda machines for the Far Left. Liberals used to frustrate me denying that fact years ago when they “pretended” to be News. Now it’s almost scary. Why is it scary? How brainwashed is someone to watch CNN or MSNBC and still think they provide News? And how proficient at mind manipulation the Far Left must be to have the ability to take away reasoning or common sense from so many people. They’re not just good, they’re very good. I’m referring to people like my Sister-in-Law who was Valdictorian of her HS and her Husband who has a college degree (from a long time ago when that meant you were well above others in intelligence). Their opinion of Trump - “Orange man bad”. Bad tweets. Bad morals. But most of all, a Republican. They soak up the koolaide from CNN. They attend Church (Presbyterian) yet think abortion is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Needless to say, there’s no mention of politics in any family gatherings, and thank goodness they’re the only political black sheep in the family. And I’m thankful they live outside Atlanta so interactions are rare.
