I’ve seen Pirate teams in the past fold when confronted with the turnovers & easy scores Silsbee got last night, but this bunch kept their heads up and came back for the win. Does the win mean a big season? Not at all. All it means is these kids have character. Win or lose, it indicates they’ll give their all. That’s all anyone can ask or expect.

Well, regardless of how Silsbee does this year, the next two years should be good ones with that many young players. on a side note, watched a little of the HP vs SLC game. Announcers said HP had 127 (I think that’s correct) suited up. Big number!

Certainly surprised at the JV score last night (Vidor 30-6). Perhaps Vidor will have a shot at knocking off the Tigers. Should be a good opening contest for both.

Been just keeping an eye on Carthage for a few years. One thing I’ve noticed, if you’re ahead of them, or close at Halftime, you better change what you’re doing in the second half. You always hear about “adjustments” at half, but Surratt & his Staff do it, and do it very, very well. I’d love to know what all they did at halftime. Carthage was a different team in the second half. Imo, they’ve solved they’re QB question & the D is as advertised. Crosby’s D is VERY good. I think #20 is a very good RB, and needs the ball. Crosby should have a great season. What a game to start off the season. Can’t say enough about it. Hats off to both teams, Coaches & Staffs.
