Understand, “good” is a relative term. They were 8-4, and I think they were second in District, losing to HH & Splendora so 3-2, tied with LCM, who Ltown beat in OT. And when I said good, I was merely referring to teams in that District. Looking forward to seeing all the previews posted so we can see how many starters returning from each team. HH only has 5, but I think they’ll be better than that indicates.

Other than Livingston & Splendora (unless they pull a rabbit out of a hat) there’ll be some good ball games. The other four better give 110% when playing each other. Vidor appears the favorite, but they best not let their guard down. Not a powerhouse District, but good balance. I see Splendora even beat Lumberton last year. Can’t imagine how. Ltown had a good team.

I hope these kids get a win, but to bad they had to schedule Grapeland.

May be the first 4A team I’ve seen with so few starters returning. But they had so many easy wins last year, I bet that’s deceiving. You can figure those backups got a lot of playing time. They’ll have more experience than meets the eye.

Huffman looks solid there, but last years preseason opponents were terrible. It’s not unusual to have a few easy games, but none of the 5 had a winning season. But in their defense, they cruised through District. Lost a lot. Might win it again but it won’t be easy.

While watching CBS News yesterday, they had a clip on how immigrants who are becoming citizens were sworn in one at a time in their cars. Everyone who was sworn in was black, except for one from India. Curious that so many blacks in America think it’s racist, but so many blacks outside can’t wait to get in.

As with other activities, each player should have a daily temperature check prior to practice or games. Stadium crowds are where the most danger lies. I’m still not sure how much help they are. Since some States have mandated it already, have they seen a significant drop in cases/deaths? Then, if they actually do work, will we be wearing mask until (IF) someone gets a proven safe vaccine? If it’s proven they work, & we were only going to wear them a month, and it’d go away, fine, but this sounds like there's no end.

Dr. Fauci is saying we need to open schools. That ups the odds on there being a football season. I’m definitely more optimistic.
