Evidently, whoever came up with that racist theory never watches the show. One of the shows about the remnants of an ancient building, in Peru I think, the cutting of the stones was so precise, no one could do it today - white, brown, black, or purple with yellow polka dots. I have to give kudos to Silsbee. Their Non-District schedule doesn’t have any powder puffs. Vidor, Jasper, Nederland and Pleasant Grove. They’ll be ready for District after that.

Imo, if you have an even average passer, and work on it in practice, that offense can be as good as any.

I agree. Pleasant Grove runs a Slot T type, but they sling the ball. First requirement for a Slot T QB is his ability to run. Finding one that can do that and pass decent is the real trick.

If Silsbee is crazy enough to pull a Crosby (all 11 within 5 yards of ball), Vidor might do that. But it’ll surprise everyone if they do. Vidor passing is scarcer than hens teeth. Crosby just went all in on stopping the run. Might be one of the worst examples of coaching ever. I watched the film on Maxpreps. They repeatedly filled the box, even after Vidor kept completing passes.

Just imagine the audience if people aren’t allowed in games.

No doubt in my mind.

The biggest problem Matthews has is getting the Pirates to play with the same intensity they played with in 5A. The teenage mind may be thinking, “We’re in 4A now. All we have to do is show up & we’ll win”. If he can lite a fire in their bellies, I think the Pirates could make a decent run in the playoffs. Region 3 in 4AD1 is not a powerhouse. I think the Silsbee game will indicate that, one way or the other.

See they have Silsbee as preseason pick #8 in 4AD2. Just saw on another site Vidor is #24 in 4AD1. Seems like DC sees Silsbee winning this one easy.

One thing that might help Vidor, the Tigers start off slow & peak at the end of the season. That’s a great plan & hats off to the Silsbee Staff. I haven’t been to a game, other than Evadale (& I don’t watch them anymore), in about 8 years. I just might try to make this one.

Wasn’t this the first year Ltown ran the Slot T? Doubt they’re as polished as Vidor with it yet. Still, a good defense can make most offenses look bad. And as AAW pointed out, they’ve seen Vidor run it in scrimmages.

No Pirate posters with an idea of returning starters? I have heard they have a nose guard coming back who’s like a gorilla on steroids, but that’s all I know about them. If, Silsbee has trouble with the Teams that run the Slot T well, they’ll have trouble with the Pirates. I’d guess one TD win at the most - by whoever wins it. Btw, sure fun to be talking football again, regardless of what’s going to happen.

Secondary shouldn’t be a big factor against Vidor. 😂😂😂
