Great idea. Bet they were excited.

This one has all the aspects of a great game. Both teams playing well.

Have always loved that song, and, as happens to us old folks, it popped into my head. Got on YouTube and listened to it. Then saw a video of two guys critiquing it. Found it very interesting. Here’s the song, and critique for anyone that likes it.

A school that size having to rely on a Freshman QB makes no sense to me. With all the huge wins, surely they could have groomed an older backup. But then again, I’m not a Coach.

Now Cart gets an UC. Again, no reason. After watching La Vega, I haven’t seen any real reason for their reputation for playing dirty. Good team, but not nearly as good as Carthage today. LV drives 95 yds for the score 42-28 with 2:07 to play.

Carthage TD. Up 42-21. Dawgs have scored on last 6 possessions. The irony here, La Vega known for their Defense. And LV fumbled the KO. Carthage recovers.

End of 3, Carthage up 35-21

LV right back with a score. They’re hanging in. 35-21 Including a fantastic long run where the RB broke about 8 tackles.

Fourth and one and Carthage bust a 54 ya run for TD. Good chance I was wrong when I predicted a close game. 35-14.

Scratch that - illegal formation on LV. Re-kick. Now Cart ball at 36 yd line.

You’re probably right, but at that point, I can’t see any reason for the frustration. He’d made a good run.

Then Carthage throws a bomb for a TD.

An example of LV being labeled dirty there. RB for LV makes a nice run & gets an Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty at end of play. No sense in that. Hard enough to beat a team like Carthage without shooting yourself in the foot.

I had recorded the game. Just watched this morning. Gunter has extremely fast Team speed, and someone on that Staff knows how to teach blocking. Another impressive thing was how well disciplined both teams were. How great to watch a game with very few flags, and no unsportsmanlike conduct. I only remember two off the line of scrimmage, and one was because PP was trying to rush because Time was running out. Hats off to both Teams and Coaches. Would like to see a repeat in the La Vega vs Carthage game, but I’m not going to hold my breath. 😄

Not just a great Coach, but a leader of young men. Congratulations Coach.
