Well said. A summation of our current predicament that many of us have anticipated for years. Also the reason many of us consider seceding from the Union as our last grasp at Freedom. After more research, evidently the Constitution doesn’t require a criteria for how the State Electoral Votes are cast, so these States allocating all their votes to whomever gets the most popular votes in the National tally, is legal unless/until someone challenges it in court, and it works its way up to the SCOTUS for interpretation. If it’s not overturned, in the not so distant future, New York & California will essentially be electing our presidents. Where’s the crying emoji?

As I understand it, if in 2016, if the folks in Connecticut voted for Trump, Hillary would still have gotten their Electoral Votes, since she won the National Vote. This group National Popular Votes Interstate Compact, has 172 votes locked into the National vote. It only takes 270, so they’re only 98 Votes short.
