Movies, like’em or loathe’em, are a form of art. We’ve always been told that art is a kind of sacred cow. When many Christians were offended when an art museum in NY displayed a crucifix in a jar of urine, the response, “Oh it’s art”. That was their justification. So now, classic movies and singers are coming under attack because of PC. Katie Smith, who’s recording of God Bless America, has been played at Yankee Stadium - gone. Disney’s, Song of the South - gone. Gone With the Wind - gone. No thought given to the context of the times. No thought given to it’s art No thought given to if you don’t like it, don’t go see it. Even early James Bond films may be (are?) considered sexist. And heaven forbid any PC whacko watch the end of Rio Grande. The sound of Dixie being played might send them into apoplexy. When are school officials and parents going to learn that you need armed guards, or armed teachers at school? This appeared an affluent school. Why not hire one or two armed individuals to deter atrocities like this? Good grief, I want to beat my head on the wall. And a big Hats Off to Kendrick Castillo. That young man jumped up and attacked the shooter, losing his life in the process. What a hero this young man was. I know that won’t alleviate the sorrow his parents are going through, but I hope some day they’ll take solace knowing what a fine young man they raised, and pride in that fact. Prayers for all.

Here’s what liberals don’t understand about the EPA. They’re enamoured with the EPA for past accomplishments. When established in 1970, and was needed, they had 5,800 employees. Those folks did the bulk of the cleanup. Now they have about 15,000 employees. Okay, to put this in perspective, I’ll use an analogy. Say Bmt Riverfront Park is covered in trash and dead animals. Bmt appoints Mr. Smith to clean up the Park, and gives him 6 men. After a year, they’ve pretty much got it cleaned, but at Mr. Smiths request, they give him 4 more men, because Smith said we need to pick up every twig and leaf on that park. Next year Smith needs 4 more men to whitewash the concrete, and test the water in the river to make sure it’s not 100% acidic. See where this has gone? Six men did the main cleanup, but now you’ve got 14 men and are making up things to do to justify your existence. That is the EPA in a nutshell. Keep it, but they should be cut to 2,500 employees to monitor the awesome results of the initial 5,800.

About the School Board interference, I hope you guys don’t think that’s unique to West Hardin, or just small schools. It may pull more weight in a small school, but that poo goes on all over. Lucky are the schools who don’t have this problem.

I’m happy for the Bulldogs and their fans. But being an old timer, and loving tradition, I do hope y’all continue to water it from Thursday night until just before game time. I realize it won’t help much, but still, I hate to see an old tradition die out Congrat Dogs.

When you reach my age, when you wake up in the morning, you look around to see if the grim reaper is there. Hollering at basketball officials is a high point of life. I’m a pro with football officials, and baseball umpires. Been a learning process in basketball for me. When others holler, I holler - I may not know what happened, but I join in, lol. But for whatever reason, some basketball officials seem to let their bias influence their performance worse than other officials/umpires.

Orangefield lost a few good players, but with Val Catt having more experience under his belt, I’m confident they’ll still be a force.
