Sure seems like, based on the media reports, that our hurricanes are fairly weak and insignificant. Because it’s on the east coast, you’d have thought Florence was the storm of the century. I do feel bad for the folks in the Carolinas because they’re getting a bad taste of what we got with Harvey. Just don’t remember all the angst with Harvey I’m seeing now.

This week, Newton gets the Congrats. Actually, can give congrats to both for a great football game and effort. Newton was just better Friday night. And WOS might have held the Eagles to the lowest point total this year - 21. Good luck to both teams.

Only stat I got, and it’s unofficial, is the penalties. CCC 10 for 50 yards and Vidor 75 for 750 yards, plus negating 14 TD’s and 319 yds rushing. But like I said, unofficial lol.

kicker, that will probably be the biggest understatement of the year. The WOS schedule is brutal. What I really hate is that you don’t have a passing game. Crosby has probably worked on stopping the run for two weeks. Play WOS, and next game is Vidor. The Cougar cornerbacks will be bored to death lol.

Maybe the Mustangs will loosen them up. Of course, if they beat WOS and Vidor, they’ll pretty much be the Champions of Orange County. Bet they’ve never held that coveted award before

Imo, many schools don’t have votes on bond issues soon enough. As an example, a schools HS needs replacing - Have a bond issue for Xxx,000,000 amount of dollars. But it appears they wait until an elementary needs replacing. Then, let’s have a Bond Issue, and BTW, lets put a new stadium in there, and replace all our desk with Laz-Z-Boy recliners. Now the Bond Issue is a whooping XXX,000,000 amount. Voters vote it down. Again, imo, voters are more apt to approve multiple smaller Bond Issues that one giant one. It’s easier to eat an elephant over a period of time than try to eat the whole thing all at once. And that’s a memo.

One good thing, hopefully Galloway shouldn’t be needed against LCM. No offense to Vidor’s brothers across the county, but it appears they’re having a down year and Vidor has a pretty good team. The Pirates will need to be at 125% when Crosby comes to town. And were I Jeff Matthews, I wouldn’t move that game no where. I’d play it in Vidor if it had rained 15 inches, and was still raining. Unless Coach Matthews knows we’d have an advantage somewhere else. Seems like Pirates are 1-0 against Crosby at Lamar. That’s a maybe lol.
