I may misunderstand this whole issue, but I’m under the impression that the adults are arrested and the children merely detained. The connotation of those two words is miles apart. Now the headlines read, 2,500 children separated from their parents. Not a great deal, but better than the headlines, 2,500 children arrested (with their parents). Essentially, the parents are incarcerated. Would children be safe in that kind of environment, or subject to abuse or sexual assault by the adults? We don’t put American kids with their parents in prison. And we can’t build Holiday Inn Expresses so everyone will have a nice room w/cable TV. And I’d bet you 95% of the kids being retained are probably getting some of the best treatment they had in their lives, albeit without their parents.

I’ll answer for him on why the company is controversial, since he doesn’t seem to know. The reason is, because it was owned by a Christian, S. Truett Cathy. A Christian who walked the walk, attending & teaching Sunday School for 50 years at the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Georgia. The company’s values are influenced by his Christian beliefs. Because of his Christian values, the Left, and many Democrats, think it’s controversial. That shouldn’t surprise anyone since they boo’ed God at the 2012 Democratic Convention.

Good question. I’m way out of my comfort zone discussing Law. I do know she’s an Obama appointee. I do question her prudence in this decision. First sitting American President to visit the Western Wall. First since the Korean War to meet with the leader of N. Korea. Snubbed his nose at the G-7. Increase tariffs on are allies(?). Ask for more support from our allies(?) for NATO. Those countries have been living off the American teat so long, provided by the American taxpayers. Why should we have so many troops in Europe costing us billions of dollars, when the Europeans spend so a small amount on their military’s? Essentially, we’re subsidizing their Socialist programs. And IF we can bring N. Korea into the 21st century, we could remove thousands of our troops from the south, again saving billions of dollars. Trump, like most Americans, is tired of us being Mr. Nice Guy.
