Black AMERICAN's Perspective on National Athem
Hagar replied to 5GallonBucket's topic in Political Forum
So the owner fires a man who won two Super Bowls, and 13 Divisional Titles, and you're complimenting him? One of the greatest innovators in football history, who invented the 4-3 defense, and started using the shotgun formation. He fires that man and you're complimenting Jerry Jones? The same Jerry Jones who ran off Jimmy Johnson? The same Jimmy Johnson, from Port Arthur, who won two Super Bowls while coaching the Cowboys, who left because Jones was trying to coach the team from his private suite? Lmbo, got ya. -
Here's Dianne Feinstein's solution. There's an old saying about 'letting the camels nose under the tent'. Never, ever, trust a Democrat on gun legislation. [Hidden Content]

I think a much better PAM team will show up Friday. I think the Indians are flying high. Who's going to win? I'm reminded of many years ago when I went to Evangeline Downs to watch Thorobred horse racing. One particular race two horses were neck and neck at the wire and the announcer, instead of calling a winner said, Who do you like? That was a good race. This is going to be a good football game.

I'm notoriously terrible at this, so you Raider fans ought to be thrilled. Vidor 30 Ltown 28.
-
Ironically, it'd be a better game than many of the 6A teams. How weird is that?
-
I don't like Bob Corker now? Hate to bust your bubble but I'd have to goggle him. My givapoo meter is on zero.

And that selective outrage is what makes my head spin. It's like they've been brainwashed. Brainwashed, or their minds don't work properly. I can accept that in some, but not by so many. Can't comprehend it.
-
Like Bill Clinton and John F. Kennedy?
-
No argument from me. Heaven knows Central has the the team to do it. And as you and I both said, this Friday will go a long way to finishing the puzzle. One of those rare instances when all six potential playoff teams are playing each other. Going to be an exciting Friday!

[Hidden Content] Can you believe this? From the LA Times? I can't, but it's refreshing. "Yup. Hollywood shines light on Catholic Church, sex-trafficking - lets shine it on ourselves a second and see what we've condoned." Actress-writer-producer Lena Dunham wrote on Twitter.

Imo, Except for PNG, who has yet to play any of the better teams, Nederland and Ltown seemed to be the only improved teams. I think PNG is improved, but we'll know more after their game with PAM. PAM and Vidor are good, but not quite as good as last year. I'm certainly not as familiar with 21-5A, but they don't seem to have improved much either. Still early though. A lot of passes and handoffs to be done, and fumbles and intercepts. Best advice, set back and enjoy. PNG - PAM - Nederland- Whoever wins the Vidor vs Ltown game.
-
Well the Raiders played a good ballgame today. And Ltown plays D against the Slot T about as well as anyone. And I'll echo Vpirate02, Vidor has played Ltown several times when I thought Vidor should win, and they end up losing. Game should be close.

Talk about tradition. Them Carthage Bulldogs have it.
-
Yep, it goes on for a lot of teams. Them Bulldogs don't have a losing record to many teams. Getting beat by Nederland is no disgrace, beating Nederland, priceless (but doesn't happen often lol). BTW, Thanks for the great posting TVC. I got a hangnail from refreshing the screen
-
Congratulations to the Bulldogs. Y'all surpring some younger folks, but I've been watching Nederland for 60 years. They don't stay down long. And congrats to the Pirates. Played a good team close. Great game to all the young men on both teams.
-
Didn't have those Bulldog referees
-
Game just as advertised.

This has been addressed numerous times on this thread. Had you bothered to read the whole thing you'd realize that. As Realville said, it irritates some Ned fans. Rivalry? No. But two good teams lining up for a tough game.
-
Your agitation (frustration) based on the info we've gotten on this attack, mirrors what I put in bold print above your post. The whole thing is a blueprint for a conspiracy theory. Roswell was another, made for a CT. Yep, something smells on this one. Like you and baddog, I hope we get some solid, 'makes sense' info pretty soon. If it was a jigsaw puzzle, I'd already be b-tching about pieces being missing.
-
Just saw this. As baddog said, we're trying to make sense out of something that makes no sense. I hate to keep harping on this, but I go back to the FBI statement that he had no connections to ISIS, only 12 hours after the attack. After reading what the MSM has been reporting, I thought the pos spent all his time in Casinos. Now they say he took 20 cruises, several to the Middle East. So would someone make sense of this. How could the FBI know jack about any connection to ISIS if this POS had been to the Middle East several times? This is a prime example of how you get conspiracy theories started. The admittedly 'far fetched' article PhatMack posted would be one way the FBI would know he wasn't connected. I'm beginning to smell a stink, and it ain't the Evadale Papermill.
-
The day for the big game is here. The Black and Gold Bowl. If my hearing wasn't so bad, I could probably hear the pads hitting all the way up here in Evadale. It's going to be hot. Kids will be sweaty. A fumble may decide the winner. Go Pirates!

Congratulations Oilers.

Proud of the Mustangs. Despite everything, they pulled out the win. Haven't had their backs to the wall in a long time, but fought their way out. Great job. -

And if them two play basketball, that team will be solid. -
Good thing y'all played Joaquin. That's about the only competition the Tigers have had. Congrats on another win.
