  1. Dufus is way to kind. The English language doesn't have a word to cover would be educated retards like this. Give me strength.
  2. [Hidden Content] And another one bites the dust. Just a coincidence folks. Nothing to see here. Move along.

  4. Key words the author used to describe him, common sense. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be so common anymore.
  5. My heart is with HD, but my money is on Kountze. (That usually means HD will win lol).
  6. Happy to see Deweyville win, but it's sad Burkeville only has 13 players suited up. Can't imagine why there aren't more. Has to be some kind of local problem. Regardless, my hats off to those 13, they stand tall.
  7. I doubt many on this Forum would agree, but jmo that a HC/AD can (should) teach a lot more than can be judged by wins and losses. From everything I hear of Coach Matthews, he does that. The main thing is, as Whoa pointed out, the folks in Vidor like him. If they're happy, I'm happy for them. Btw, I've watched Vidor teams in the past who wouldn't score 40 points in a season, and they did that 5 times last year. And I recently saw, the King of the Pot Stirrers (who is no longer on this Forum) refer to them as the University of the Slot T. Pretty high compliment from that PAM fan
  8. I agree that having D1 recruits is not the utopian situation some would think. I'd guess that most of the 22 players starting on defense for UT and A&M are D1 recruits, and they gave up a combined 96 points on 9/2, to two schools that were not suppose to be that good. Was that all coaching, or maybe some of those D1 recruits are not really that good? I know Colleges, like speed, agility, and size, but unfortunately there's no way to measure determination and heart.
  9. [Hidden Content] Based on the statement by the HISD Supt, this must have been one big bru-ha-ha.
  10. Good comeback Red Dawn. Should be a heckuva ball game (is heckuva game ok to say?).
  11. Class act.
  12. For several days, when I checked the Ch 6 weather stations, West Hardin HS had the most. Congratulations on getting back so soon.
  13. Who'll win? At this time in our disruptive lives, both towns will. For a few hours, students, fans, and many alumni, of both schools and towns, will immerse themselves in something normal for SETX. Heaven knows, many need those few hours.
  14. [Hidden Content] I'd suspect that on a Regional level, this gives you a fairly accurate indication of a teams potential. As with all polls, a good conversation piece.
  15. I have to go with grad. PAM has enough depth to replace transfers with quality players. Not many teams have that luxury. They'll still be the team to beat, and though Central should be improved, beating PAM is going to be very, very, difficult.
  16. 14.2 may have a lot of faults, but if the Forum gave awards, I'm thinking he get top prize in pot stirring
  17. Lmbo, and as Howard Cosell would say, Just telling it like it is Dandy.
  18. When Hoops stands next to me, he looks fairly slim. I'm a few pounds more "muscular" than he is
  19. The exact same WOS. But if Crosby and WOS had played, there's no doubt in my mind that a lot of the Crosby fans (on this Forum) would've complained about driving so far to play someone that isn't competitive. And odds are, would've started off the season with a L. But those on this side of the Trinity know that. Vidor takes a whuppin when they scrimmage them, and sadly, PAM & WOS don't (won't.) play, but that'd be a heckuva matchup. So obviously the rest of 22-5A aren't going to sch them. Justabout a "go to the bank" butt whippin'. And (imo) why is because at WOS they still think defense is an integral part of the game, not just a place to put 11 guys who aren't good enough for their offense. And these new, high powered offenses, and even older models like the Slot T, can put up big numbers - until they matchup with a D like WOS has. And no, I don't live there, nor go to their games. But I do admire the way their defense shuts down teams, and am proud of them winning back to back SC's. That's a durn great accomplishment.
  20. You're probably correct, but Maxpreps is showing Hemphill winning 18-14. And I saw somewhere else Hemphill won, but no score posted. You might re-check.
  21. Don once ask, "What do you do with good old boys like me"? Well Don, I just listened to you sing, and loved it. RIP Don Williams. Your one of the guys George Jones was referring to in, "Who's gonna fill their shoes".
  22. I'd missed this one on pickums Lightning. But yes, sounds like you have some good things to build on.
  23. Is it just me, or is anyone else thinking, good thing WOS wasn't looking for a game? Big congrats to Jasper. Maybe the folks that do the state rankings should take notice.
  24. I think you're correct Coug. And I'd like your opinion- do you think it's becoming more of a trend in most of our HS football teams, or are the offenses just more potent? Are most putting their best athletes on O, at the expense of D? It seems like that to me. To use a baseball comparison, it appears we want good hitters, but we don't worry about pitching. Of course there's still some dinosaurs out there, like WOS, who play defense like its the main part of the game. Wonder when they'll wise up. Oh, wait...........
  25. I can hear Cherokee now. Literally, Warren's band plays it.
