Overall, I'd rate BC's overall athletic program "Very Good" this year. Coach Dubois and his staff have done an excellent job. As for basketball, Silsbee rules 4A. Silsbee, as a town, is enthusiastic about basketball. Some towns aren't. I lived in Vidor most of my life, and very few follow basketball, while the stands would be packed for football even when they didn't win much. Moved to Evadale, this is a basketball/baseball town. They love it. Our boys beat many 3A & some 4A schools. Our girls beat many 5A in basketball. Thank goodness our boys don't have to play Silsbee or HJ. So BC overall is competitive. On the downside of HS athletics, it appears the officiating in all sports is getting more bias, or just worse. Not sure why, unless it's the need for officials. Not as many want to do it, so people that shouldn't be officiating still get in the programs. Officials are human, so they bring with them all those human frailties and biases. Some, the really good ones, can overcome most of that, but many can't. It's not fair to the kids, and it drives us fans crazy (I'm surprised my head didn't explode when we played Cleveland in basketball lol).

And all of you realize this is only the tip of the iceberg.

I'm afraid most on the left, and some on the right, think Govts are bottomless pits full of money. Cities see it the quickest. Then the States. Someday, our Fed Govt will see it to.

I love the ultra left logic from the Mayor - "Gun control ain't working, we need more gun control". That could've been in Linkletter's book, Kids Say the Dardest Things.

That's telling it like it is lol

Sure they have baddog. You look at Al Gore. If he isn't an alien droid, ain't never been one.

I have to agree he shouldn't have done it. Although I'm ancient, in my day, you'd never run up to an Ump like that. After the football incident of hitting the Ref in the back, the UIL (or whoever) needs to draw a line in the sand for all sports. That said, I threw a few 55 mph fastballs in high school, and that pitch sure looked like a strike.

This might be one of the best match ups in the State. Based on one common opponent, Evadale. Big Sandy defeated Evadale twice: 3-0 & 2-1 Thorndale also def The Rebs twice: 3-2 & 3-1 Big Sandy has been cruising thru the playoffs. Thorndale was cruising until Evadale, then they beat high ranked Refugio 4-3 & 9-3. After all that highly classified, detail analysis, I'm going with the Wildcats, but I think the cruising is over in this series. Time to play Wildcat baseball.

No alcohol, but four different Meds. I know what Vicodin is, and he had take Viox, which was voluntarily taken off the market in 2004 (evidently still available to the rich). Other two I don't know, Soloxer and Torix. He certainly looked higher than a kite. Pretty sad to go from the top of the mountain, to so deep in the valley. [Hidden Content]

That is one of the best post I've seen in a long time.

I ask him to adopt me, but he denied.

It fits in with most liberals. For some reason, when they know you're right, they bail out. What irritates me, they don't take any wisdom with them. If it doesn't fit their agenda, they block it out. I can't comprehend it. If you ever figure out how they blank out the truth, please let me know.

If you're wanting to leave the country and see some beautiful places, I've heard that Utah is nice, and I've seen some pretty places in Georgia, but avoid Atlanta. We're staying in country. Probably going to the hill country, around Fredericksburg.

To all those brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom, I say, Thank you. Those two words are inadequate to convey my true feelings, but as far as I know, our language doesn't have words sufficient enough. A toast, To absent companions. Here's a picture of the price of freedom. [Hidden Content]

Don't be deflecting, No doubt some whites want segregation. But why are many blacks now pushing for it, in public venues? Have you seen any demands by white students/people for a segregated venue in a public facility? I saw the struggles of the 60's. Wouldn't want to see them again. So seriously, do you have a clue why this is happening, or are you as clueless as me? It's a head scratcher.

I'll admit one thing new tobie, you can't teach this old republican much about computers. But if someone does, I'll forget it tomorrow lol. Dadgum contraptions!

In 1972 Tom T. Hall wrote & sang, Old Dogs & Children, and Watermelon Wine. Since I had such a beautiful singing voice (or not lol), I was singing it at work. Hall's inspiration for the song came from a trip to the 72 Democratic Convention where he had a conversation with an old black porter at the Miami Beach hotel. The Porter appraised his own life by saying the only three worthwhile things are the three listed in the songs title. An older black co-worker of mine was perturbed that Hall had mentioned an "old, gray, black gentleman. His thoughts were, why didn't Hall just mention an old gray gentleman? Why did people even mention race. Keep in mind, my co-worker grew up during segregation, and had listened to Dr. King speaking, encouraging folks to look at someone & not see race, but a fellow human being. A goal of most in the black movement at the time. The point of my little story is, we seem to have come full circle. Now we're seeing blacks giving segregation a rebirth, as evidenced by blacks repeatedly wanting segregated venues. There have been several threads about those on here, and I'll admit my memory isn't what it use to be, but I don't remember any of our black posters condemning this trend. If some of you did, my apologies. If you didn't, is that what you want again, segregation? In fairness, you'll have to acknowledge why it puzzles many whites, like myself. [Hidden Content]

I liked that. He impressed me when he said, "For those of you who disagree, I hope we can get along, for its merely a difference in interpretation". I get embarrassed to see two Christians get in a heated argument over a matter of interpretation (or virtually anything). Especially now, when disciples of satan are committing atrocities all over the globe. Christians must ban together Jmo

its sad to see any sporting event decided by an umpire or Referee's bad or biased call. Virtually all of us have seen it. What's really hard to take is a whole game of it, especially when all these bad calls are going against the same team. I saw a basketball game in Cleveland several months back, that was the most bias officiating I've ever witnessed, in any sport. Unfortunately, I get the impression that officials are getting harder to find, so I expect this problem to escalate. But you shouldn't see it in a Forth Round playoff game.

Dadgum jv_coach, I meant to post about this twice but kept forgetting. I must credit this to the unscrupulous poster WestHardinFan1. Not evolution, but happened after creation. Genesis, Ch 6, Verse 4: "There were giants in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."

Lol, the mystery Reagan, if they don't get the memo, their minds cannot comprehend.

But I never got a reply on my question. Crickets.
