And I hope we have good Refs. Last game, toward the end, foul count was Evadale 10 and Alto 2. And though I'm no expert, sure looked like Alto was able to get away with some things, that we couldn't. Call a few fouls, or a lot, but be consistent. Go Rebels! Fyi: Shelbyville has 5 loses. Three to 1A teams and two to 2A. Evadale has not been beaten by a 2A team (no 1A sch) all year.

Congratulations to Coach Barrow, and best of luck in your new position. A lot is expected of you, but you have the Tradition and fan/community support. That's two luxuries many new coaches don't have. Make it work.

I don't know Redhorse, being relatively new to HS basketball, but I know while researching several 2A teams in our bracket that Leggett had beaten them. Very impressive team the Pirates have. Of course I saw the same thing with Lipan several years ago. Folks shouldn't sell these 1A teams short in basketball. Good luck Pirates.

Grapeland has an excellent team, but they'll have to get pass LaPoynor first. Never sell them short. They always seem to have good teams, boys and girls both. That should be a good game, but most are at this stage.

You know how virtually all of us with an interest in a team, get all riled up at polls? I was looking at the brackets and West Texas #8 with a 26-2 record, lost in the first round to a forth place team, as did Neches #11 was 29-2. Of course with SA beating Neches, we have an explanation, but I just wonder if some of these great records are the result of a padded schedule? As I've said, Polls are a good conversation piece. The road to San Antonio is full of bumps and barriers.
