Kudos to you Red Dawn. I enjoy your post. You don't put the other team down, and even hand out attaboys to them when warranted. Some on here go a little overboard. Haven't seen the Pirates play since their loss to Angleton in 2011, but I'm hoping I get to this one. Ditto on your post - Good sportsmanship and a good clean epic battle. And I'll add, no injuries. Heck, I might even burn a few calories hollering at the refs

I haven't seen Vidor play. I just read the post on here. But liltex, you wouldn't believe the number of times I've seen the words "missed tackles", or "arm tackles" when referring to a loss to Vidor. Its repeated time after time. My only conclusion is those Vidor backs must be a hard running quad. Maybe the D's are able to tackle most other backs with their arms, but evidently them four from Vidor run through that stuff. They may not all have 4.4 or 4.5 speed, but there's more to being a good RB than speed. I haven't seen many HS games in quite a few years, but I saw some guys discussing something I'd never heard of, foot tackling. One said some coaches actually teach that, to avoid concussions. Doubt you'll see much of that from playoff teams lol. Anyway, I think it was a good wake up call for PAM. I don't envy Porter. Vidor has awakened a beast.

Then relax bigsie. I going to guess you saw BH play Vidor. Based on the posts I've seen, prior to this year BH was a running team. Thot someone said Slot T, but I'm not sure. Anyway, their new coach is from Allen. Tells me he's good, and knows football. A guy who knows how to defend that offense, with a disciplined defense. That takes a lot of out of that offense. Most coaches don't know how to defend it, or don't have kids disciplined enough to do so. PAM's team is undoubtedly better than Vidor, yet Vidor beat them. Crosby may be better than Vidor, but they're not as good as PAM. Even if Crosby has a general idea how to defend it, it'll still be a good game. Could go either way. But I doubt they do. So based on that, and no turnovers by either team, Vidor wins this by a TD at least. Turnovers, by either team, is the killer. Either team loses the "takeaway" factor by two or more, is in deep poo.

Check. Gibbs slap upside back of my head. -
You taking them to the game? Other BH fans will get a kick out of them singing along. Learned it in kindergarten - hey, that's part of the great tradition at PNG.
-
Did a little fact checking. The game you're referring to was in 2014. And PLC was 6-5 when y'all played. Verify? Compare the points they're scoring with what Vidor's put up. They don't run the Slot T as well as Vidor's JV. You pick one game out, from two years ago, against a 50-50 team. You gonna have to do better than that hoss. You ain't seen bad yet, but it's coming.

Grapeland vs Iola Thursday in Buffalo (no time - probably 7). Still no info on Tenaha vs Sabine Pass. -
I know one thing, I'm pulling for the Jags. I want 22-5A to whip up on 21-5A. Go Jaguars!
-
Porter? Vidor? Lol, funny stuff. You want to know the best team in Texas - "pound for pound" (using that expression as an analogy). The Bremond Tigers, 2A-D2. Their last loss was the 2013 SC game. Since then, they've won 40 games in a row. For their size, hands down, no contest, currently best team in Texas.
-
That's great. Indicates Vidor will double the number of rushing TD's in one game. I envy you 14.2, Thursday, you're going to see a team that puts the rush in rushing.
-
Go Indians. Hope there's a 22-5A sweep. I want OL Tradenup to be sick of Cherokee (heaven knows, as an old Vidor fan, I heard it enough lol), and know it by heart.

Many years ago, one of the great golfers hit a terrible shot. He just smiled and walked after it. His competitor said, aren't you worried, and the great one said, No, I rarely hit a shot like that, so I won't hit another for quite a while. Moral of the story, PAM HIT their bad shot. They ready to play ball. I think PAM takes this by a minimum of 21. Go Titans, this old man from Evadale is pulling for you.
-
I sure don't know what his reasoning was, but perhaps he was remembering the success PNG had with it. And if successful, maybe today many would be talking about, what a stroke of genius. As I stated before, I'm a PAM fan now, so if Xbox screws up next game, me and you both will be on him Btw, pakronos, crow ain't so bad. I've ate a lot of it in my lifetime lol.
-
Lol, good post. Says volumes about your DB's mentality. That'll help Crosby.
-
I will say that many of the Crosby post are almost verbatim to many of the PAM post prior to last nights game. And although I've never seen either team play this year, just looking at the game post, yes the Coog DB's will be doing more than their share of tackling. What I keep hearing from those Vidor has defeated is, "we missed to many tackles". I'd assume that's due to the hard running of the Pirates RB's. And "our defense is fast" seems to play into the Pirates wheelhouse. To defend the Slot T does not require speed. It requires discipline. The discipline to not use that great speed, but to stay home on D. I'd bet PAM has as much speed or more than Crosby (and that's not a put down, PAM is very fast), but those fast kids couldn't stay home. Their defense is use to attacking against today's modern O's, and it works, as I'm sure Crosby's does. But it doesn't work against the Slot T. If the Coog D doesn't stay at home, you probably lose. If they do, you probably win.

Lol, great post, and comparison. Just about as bad lol.

Out of the likes, but me knowing you makes this post even more meaningful. Thanks Chester86!

Yep, my little dude is an Evadale Rebel, the next best thing. Also tri Dist a Champs And that video was fantastic. Kudos to jms166.

Well put Red Dawn. I suspect it'll be a great, close game. Kind of ho-hum for the Cougars, but this is big stuff for the Pirates. I can bet the Vidor side will have a big crowd, with all the football happy Vidorians, and many others from 22-5A. Be plenty of black & gold from Vidor and Ned, and purple from PNG (and Dayton? Lol), and some maroon Jags, and red from Ltown. If Crosby side matches, the stands will be pretty durn full.
-
Probably would, and isn't that a sad commentary. Actually, Pence is the pick of the four. I'm not that familiar with his stance on most things, but he has the look and bearing of a presidential figure, unlike those other three wing nuts.
-
Congratulations to PNG. Not sure if y'all are happier about being a part of the DC's or beating Nederland lol. Both are great accomplishments. I'm pulling for all the 22-5A teams, so Go Indians! And Ned, you find yourselves in a strange position. Couldn't imagine the year would turn out like this. And even through all the adversity, the Dogs played their hearts out. I'm sure you'll be backing the playoff teams, just as I'm sure that next year, you'll be back in the playoffs. Come on 22-5A, bust that 21-5A bubble.
-
Lol, keep'em coming 14.2. You're bound to get one right someday
-
Exactly, PAM hasn't seen it. I'm confident if they stay in 22-5A next realignment, they'll learn/adjust to it. WOS faces it numerous times a year. They know to stay at home, or, to be disciplined. What you may not be aware of, and I don't know why, the word "discipline" has come to have racial connotations on this Forum. I just hope the poster didn't have that in mind when he mentioned what the Vidor RB said, because I'd stake my life on the comment being literally, discipline. I'd hate that someone might construe it in any other way.
-
Absolutely, positively, great post Fairclothe. Just shows that beyond all the agitation you post, there's really a good guy
-
Yep, the Coogs did some hitting, on that one back. I've no doubt PAM would shut him down also. Key on him and use speed. Can't do that with Vidor. The Pirates have four studs, and a great offensive line.
