  1. Thought I'd share something with y'all I come across while researching Iola (in the same Dist w/Evadale). Iola was defeated 42-0 by Bremond. Since Iola is usually good, I checked on this Bremond, assuming they were 3A. Nope, 2A D2, same as Iola & Evadale. They had one loss in 2013, in the SC game to Tenaha. Since then, they've won 36 straight games. Add the 2013 season in and they're 49-1. I found that very impressive.
  2. I haven't been to a Vidor game in quite a few years, but I'd be willing to bet the visitors side won't be big enough for the Vidor faithful.
  3. Yes, hopefully PNG can take care of business and lose to Vidor. Then in week 11, PAM and Vidor can play for the District Championship. That's the way it happens in the movies. Two great teams going at it the last game of the season for the Title.
  4. Ouch, rated ahead of Aledo. Kinda bums their ranking, but the recognition is still nice.
  5. Yes, he's a trip. Most of us are just ragging on him. He kept things going.
  6. Is that the station that carries the Indians games?
  7. Didn't you post you wouldn't be able to make it? Hope my feeble brain is wrong. You got a dog in this hunt.
  8. Polite, concern, and apologizing? Lol, not Buddy.
  9. Yep, that'd be totally out of character for MBG
  10. One of the surprising things about retirement. It's hard to keep up with what day it actually is. All the rachet jawing on here helps lol.
  11. I think it's called mutual respect. Something many could learn from.
  12. Twenty pages on this Forum won't even compare to what happens at the Reservation on Friday night. I think both these teams make the playoffs, so regardless of who gets the W, I'll be pulling for both Saturday morning.
  13. Okay, dynamic means balanced offense. Well I bet Vidor has scored half of their TD's running to the left, and half their TD's running to the right. Now that's balance.
  14. Don't be encouraging that BHFan. And what in the cornbread heck does he mean "dynamic"? Where's my dictionary?
  15. Thanks Roschon. You said it much better than most of us could have. And if we can get the off topic people to go Twitter (whatever that is), we can get back to football, and I'll be able to tell ya how bad the Pirates gonna beat ya
  16. Classification numbers are what they are. Unless you're one of those teams that gets quality "transfers" with impunity, at the bottom of any classification is a disadvantage. Conversely, those at the top of any classification have an advantage. What they choose to do with that advantage is dependent on School Board/Coaching. So forget the numbers. Only complaint would be catching a school between years, like George Ranch. Although completely legal, and may be "right", imo, still ok to complain/gripe about it. I would
  17. I know it's hard to believe, but Porter has dealt with Crosby BHFan. But I get it. Your pumped up, as you should be..
  18. Nothing personal Dayton. Great football history/tradition, but having been a Pirate, you can probably understand me pulling for a school that has had more than its share of arse whippin's. No doubt in my mind Porter better bring their A game though. Is Porter for real? We'll find out Friday.
  19. I'm with you Frodo. I was an Inventory Analyst for quite a few years (I.A. Is like an Acct except I'm lost when I run out of fingers & toes lol). I try to keep post on light side, but can't bring myself to making wild, absurd claims (my pickums are usually absurd, but that's due to me being inept). MC teams always tough. Both have great traditions, which makes it difficult for the Vidors & Lumbertons to beat them. Never underestimate the T word. The Vidor/Ned game was as exciting as you could ask for. I think this Vidor/PNG game has all the ingredients to be the same.
  20. Durn 99, what you smoking in that Indian peacepipe lol? I do hope it was a PNG starter told you Vidor is in trouble. It'd be nice to know that they think they can just shove them little fellers from Vidor all over that field. Trouble? You ain't seen trouble yet, but it's coming.
  21. If I'm not mistaken, Porter has grown considerably in recent years, as has most of that area, not in small part due to ExxonMobil's huge complex at The Woodlands. My son lives in Porter, and it seems bigger every time I go there. Growth is not a bad thing. To me it indicates a nice community, and Porter certainly has some great new schools. Personally, I'm proud of those Spartans.
  22. PAM has come into 22-5A and turned things upside down. That's not a bad thing. Better competition.
  23. Interesting thread. I'll throw my 5 or 7 out. 1- Porter, hands down, no contest. Probably biggest in Texas. 2- Splendora, with their small pool. 3- Woodville, good wins, especially over Kirbyville. 4- Vidor, didn't surprise everyone, but still surprising some. 5- Liberty, back in form. 6- Tie - Hull Daisetta & Sabine Pass, because they've cost me so many pickums this year. Rob - Appreciate the good comments about Evadale.
  24. Yes, it can get out of hand very easily. One wrong innuendo, and things go downhill, very quickly. And some have perfected the art of doing that well, so they're able to feign innocence. Smh
