Well, I certainly understand your point. But imo, most that coach do it because they enjoy coaching, even with all the negatives. They take the hit on pay because of that enjoyment. I certainly didn't enjoy the jobs I did for 50 years. Wish I would have. And there was plenty of stress. For those coaches that do the job, my hats off to them. And if you don't understand the pride, sense of accomplishment, at helping make people's lives better, and having those same folks remember you for your influence on them, that's something I can't explain to you. As with all our livelihoods, Coaching is not for everyone. And thanks to those folks that do coach, you, me, and thousands of others, are getting ready to go see some great HS football. Hope your team wins (unless it's West Hardin lol).

And this game is a prime example. Happy to see Porter get a big win. Expecting to see Crosby bounce back. But you don't see the topsy turvey stuff like we're seeing this year very often. Nothing is sacred.

After reading that letter, I had to respond. My old brain started spinning on what to say, because after that letter, it needed to be appropriate. You nailed it LumRaiderFan, with that one word - Powerful.

Thanks Piratemom. Then let me clarify. Evadale JV beat Vidor's 9th "B" team. Didn't know about game until yesterday, so I wasn't aware it was "B" team. And thanks to the Vidor coaches, players and fans for giving Evadale JV an opportunity to play. Only three of our varsity opponents have a JV, so we have to scramble for games. FYI, the majority of our JV are Freshmen. In 2A, you don't have 9th grade teams.

That's the point tobie. When we're dependent on the Govt, they do essential own us. Like a 10 yr old with his parents. They lay down the rules, and the kid must follow them. They're working on it already. Tried the salt & big portion ban in New York. Didn't work - yet. They'll be back. First it will be something insignificant, and then a little more, and more. They won't rush, but eventually there will come a time when they say frog, everyone dependent on the Govt better hop. It'll take'em 30-50 years, but it's coming. If you live long enough to see it, you can say, "Had this crazy old man told me this was gonna happen, but I didn't believe him". How do I know that? Had a few older folks told me stuff was coming that I didn't believe, but I do now.

Won't argue that. And a lot of people and will get to do it again in the future.
