Great post WestHardin1. All us posters forget that sometimes.

What a luxury to have a backup like that. At most schools, he'd be starting. I'm not as familiar with 21-5A as y'all, but overall the District seems a lot weaker this year. Here's an outsider's best guess for the playoff spots. 1-Crosby - the big dog 2-New Caney - good, but not good enough 3- Barbers Hill - moving up in the hierarchy, in a hurry 4- Humble - Best of the rest Not sold on Splendora yet, and something isn't quite right at Dayton. And Octfeb, I've always admired Daytons program, but as of now, this isn't the Dayton that use to whip up on the, now, 22-5A teams. Hope y'all get it going, and if you do, my picks are all gone to h-ll. Good luck to all!

I was thinking the same thing baddog. That, and what's the matter with a sign about guns??? I understand if you don't want one, but a sign? God is great. Beer is good. And people are crazy!

Oh happy day. There's still a few folks in the northeast that are sane. Check out this guy in Maines front yard sign. [Hidden Content]

Former DNC Chairman advocates a contingency plan. And a quick question for y'all. I saw a news clip where she walked outside about two hours after "her pneumonia fainting", talking about how nice the weather was. With that said, does that really sound like something a person with pneumonia does? Is it Illary Clinton? [Hidden Content]

The Oilers come to Evadale after scoring 22 points on 4A Huntington. Will Evadale be able to stay undefeated?

That Slot T, as BC and Vidor run it, is an awesome rushing offense. IF you had a QB who was suited for it, who could actually pass, with a couple of good receivers, it would be very difficult to stop by anyone. To my knowledge, that hasn't happened yet in our area.

I agree with Spyder. I've seen several articles on how they excel in academics. And most of our local 2A schools/communities, have little in youth sports. Maybe LL baseball, but if you watch the standings in basketball, it's obvious which few have Little Dribblers, and which ones don't.

I don't know BG. He keeps picking High Island to beat Manvel, and it happens. I would suggest we're in the presence of greatness.

Don't let Stattrax & BG use them Jedi mind tricks on you MrUmp. This race is a mile and your about to lap the field.

Please help Mid County Madness be the DQ big game of the week!!!

I'm in, only because Evadale vs Sabine Pass wasn't an option. -
I'm going in with Mr Ump and get him to pick the Pros. Find us a bookie, and I'm set for life. We'll be rich. Prosperity! Wealth! Cest la Bon ton roulle!

Oh. I knew something was up when they didn't have to call the game I, (grasshopper) Just training in how to keep the peace, Master.

Unexpected? Hmmmmm I'm torn between Dayton losing and PAM not playing an incomplete game.
-
And here's their Sch. They had Galveston O'Connell sch who Evadale beat in a scrimmage. Coach T will have to punt on first down to keep this under a hundred. [Hidden Content],football&schoolid=471bcc9e-0e7e-477d-af0f-9f4d9a7af257

If you want to know who's going to win, just see who I pick. The other team wins. To help others with their picks, I'm going with Woodville.

I'm reading, trying to take in both sides, and you drop this nuke. Sometimes facts get in the way of a good discussion

I picked Warren, but it was one of my toughest picks. I saw their JV pummel a pretty good Evadale JV 22-0. Our varsity won, but Warren has a pretty solid team, which I'll bet will be a lot better next year. And HD is playing MUCH improved ball this year. I'm always happy to see a team turn it around, and predict them to be a solid third in District, hands down. I think this game is close. If the winning margin is over 7, I'll be surprised. Nor will I be surprised if HD wins. Sidebar: I think Evadale has a real chance to beat Iola this year. We have the best team we've had in the 6 yrs I've been here, and it looks like Iola is not quite as good as the past few years. I'd like nothing better for us and HD to beat them, but durn, they can play some football.

Your comment on Central is right on. They have the speed to break any play. And the PAM game will be a doozy. And although I don't go to the Vidor games, I keep up via the forum. From what I've read, they put a few new wrinkles in - good. And this big win is great, but again, you're spot on saving the farm. I'm not an authority on football, but a few teams can give Vidor's O fits, PNG and Ltown. Maybe the new stuff helps, maybe not. The old, worn out saying, "one at a time", needs to be drilled into the Pirates head. If they win the ones they should, they'll make the playoffs. And if they win one or two everyone thinks they won't, fantastic.
-
I agree 100%. Not all teams have the winning tradition like PNG, Ned, Newton and WOS. Most have their ups & downs. This year is a down year for Ozen. Vidor's last two were down. But those kids who do play are out there giving their all. It's easy to be on a winner, but you should respect, and have some admiration for kids that give the same effort on a losing team. Plus Ozen got their new HC late. They'll be back. That helps make advantage Pirates, but the 22-5A teams later in the year will probably see an improved Panthers squad.

Pathetic thing, as you all well know, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Like Kapertwit kneeling, and many following, this will snowball too. Only question I have is who opened Pandora's Box? Oh yes, a democratic Loon. And yes, there's plenty of Rep Loons as well. But this Royal Decree takes the freaking cake.

I think some of these Evadale or Big Sandy girls would kick that TG's arse.
