If you'll notice, the link says, "Shooting was legal". No, he didn't have a gun in his hand, he had one in his pocket. He was resisting arrest and his arms where by his side. You do realize that if he had gotten his hand on that gun, which he may have, he could shoot through his shorts? This isn't the movies. The Police don't have to wait until someone shoots at them first. Those officers don't want to die. Alton died because, 1- he was engaged in illegal activity, 2- he was illegally carrying a gun, 3- he was resisting arrest. Oh, and in case you didn't know, this happened to him once before, but in the initial scuffle, his gun fell out on the ground, so he was arrested. Think about all those things before you blame the police.

I hope you're right but I keep hearing how both of them are crooks, don't like either one (heck, said that myself). I see a lot of voters staying home, mostly Repubs, unless this newest Email thing makes the Bernie people so mad they stay home. Unfortunately, your point came to light in Orlando. Saw an article about quite a few folks at a "Gays for Trump" party. Said the left had let them down bringing in these people that want them dead. Ironically, the gay guy ended with, All the left wants is men going in women's bathrooms. Guess his point was, they aren't worried about bringing killers over, just who uses what bathroom. Guy is gay, but he ain't stupid.

Your post has some valid points, and I'll give you my (highly uneducated) opinion, which is not worth a lot in the scheme of things. We can do something to deter illegal immigrants, and radical Islam from being as big of a problem, by protecting our borders, and not allowing Muslin's into the US until a through vetting procedure is done. And as for the US on US crime, I don't think anyone knows what to do about it. Oh, Trump says law and order and folks cheer. Hillary says we're going to fix the schools and take care of you, folks cheer. Neither one will though. My only suggestion is jobs. Even most folks on welfare can do something, if it's just cleaning up parks, or their neighborhood. There's an old but profound saying, Idle hands is the devils workshop. Put folks to work, doing something constructive. Give a person their pride back, in themselves, and in their community.
