Mississippi has taken a bold step to defend religious liberty
Hagar replied to LumRaiderFan's topic in Political Forum
First, for my non Christian friends, let me make clear that most denominations and independents have a list of sins they most all agree on. Those same Christians have different opinions on other things that constitute a sin. Even in each Church you have a few more devout than others. Most Christian bakers would have made that cake, took the money, end of story. But this gay coupled went to a bakery owned by some devout Christians. Again, to them I can only assume, this cake would make them a part of a sinful ceremony. Do they have rights? According to our Govt, they do, but Oregons Law doesn't allow them their rights. Are Christians perfect? Heck no, but I see line after line posted above how, "I've seen them do this, and do that. They're like any group of folks. Some aren't so good, and a few are very devout. The point I'm trying to make is, those few devout Christians need/deserve protection as bad as the few people that are gay do. -
You're spot on about JB's. We stopped by last night at 7:30. Thot they closed at 8. My stomach was mad at me all the way home lol.

Evadale has ended up winning the two matchups. Both were hard fought and close, as you would expect from this great rivalry. Congratulations to Evadale, and Good Luck to both the Rebels and the Wildcats in the Playoffs.

[Hidden Content] If they're dead set on starting a war in America, they've pulled the right string. Even if it's just me against them. I hardly think that's the case though. The lovers of a charbroiled steak, or a brisket cooked slow with smoke from a wood fire, will join me. All colors, and full of testosterone. We'll be a formidable force.

Great Post Hoops. I sometimes think there must be something wrong with me. It doesn't make sense. As I look at what I just wrote, the only thing that makes sense is the fact that word, "sense", doesn't have a R or D in it.

You've certainly confused me. I post a link about pedofiles and you post a list of black on white crimes. What's up with that? Do you think pedofile is Latin for black on white crime? Do you think that whole list you posted is fantasy? Are you naive enough to think there's no such thing as black on white crime? I'll readily admit there's white on black crime, but according to DOJ statistics, of crimes between blacks and whites, 84.9% of them were black on white. Perhaps it's not the WND site that's the problem. Now about this pedofile link. Don't disregard it out of hand. Transgender's only represent 0.03% of the population, yet their bathroom rights has created an uproar.

I actually predicted this (on another site). Our leaders are in a "full court press" to destroy our morality. [Hidden Content]

Lol, it will be like picking the best NFL team and your only two choices are the Cowboys and the Texans.

Had they contributed to Trump or Cruz it would have been.

Exactly PF10. I'm not cognizant of the whole Oregon Law, but the article, as I understood it, doesn't allow Any reason to refuse gays service. That isn't common sense, nor makes any sense. Thus the need for the Mississippi law to protect the business owners beliefs, be them Christian, Hindu, or Muslim. Had the folks who created the law giving LGBT rights, used Common Sense, there would be no need for the Mississippi Law. -
Only two things that'll get me out of my Laz-z-boy. A big a$$ crane or this half German, half American Indian I've been subservient too for 48 years.

And thanks to Chester86 for the updates. I think he got so excited he forgot to put the final touch on it lol. He's one happy Dad, and has a right to be. Him and all the Rebel dads. Great win for a young team. -

This thing can be argued from several positions. As I understand it, the Mississippi law was enacted because ownership of a Bakery didn't want to bake a wedding cake for gays for religious reasons (would be participating in sinful union). IF they wouldn't bake them a regular cake, that would be discrimination. So because they took a stand to avoid what they thot was a sin, they ended up getting sued, and had to pay, due to the Law in Oregon. I think that Law is the one that should be under scrutiny. Why? Based on what I read, there's no reason you can refuse gays. Common sense? Yes! The couple could have went to another baker. IF You owned a catering business, and a gay couple ask you to cater a party that you may think is perverted, shouldn't you have the right not to? Common Sense says yes, but I don't think the Law in Oregon does. Point is, there's got to be a point where the business owners right comes into play. It can't be all one way! -

Congratulations Rebels! Win 3-0 and are District Champions! Another outstanding pitching performance by Daniel Bean. Had 10 K's. -
Since I retired 5 months ago, it was my dream for us to go everywhere during the week and avoid traffic and crowds. Another dream bites the dust. Evidently, between retirees, shift workers, and the unemployed, you can forget avoiding traffic and crowds. Just a heads up for anymore dreamers out there.

I wish this post could get the big laugh it deserves, but the insanity in our country makes it to close to the truth. -

I want to like Fear of the Walking Dead, but it's just not getting it done. I'll keep watching it. Maybe when they get to Mexico it'll pick up. Anyone else having this problem?

Let me clarify. You own a catering business and your children help you at nights and on the weekends, which is when the gay couple are having their nude party. I'll assume you wouldn't want your 15 & 13 year old son & daughter work it. Since you mentioned porn, I'll assume you know what a love fest is. I was trying to keep the post clean, but ok - turned into an orgy (if you don't know what that is look it up). Bottom line we1, is there any boundary? Can gays require a caterer to cater any kind of event? If there is a boundary, in your opinion, what is it? Because, what little I read of what happened in Oregon, there is no reason to refuse your services. -

How about my scenario I mentioned above (Sun at 12:50). The possibility is real. What would y'all do? I'll start it off, I'd have to pay the lawsuit or hire some folks who may not know a bean casserole from baked corn. And in the event the nude party turned into a love fest, I'd have to pack up & go the lawsuit route. I'd be interested to know how our liberal posters would handle this. And yes, I'm curious to see if you think a caterer has Any Legal reason to refuse the request of service to any LGBT person? -
What a sad, pathetic post. Personally, I think this intrusion (making this info public, regardless of how accurate it may, or may not be) into peoples personal lives is an invasion of privacy. And for you to find it "comforting" says a lot about you, and none of it good.
