  1. [Hidden Content] Well, she either made a big faux pas, or she has a pair to release her tax plan with increases this big.
  2. As am I doing my part bd. Just finished supper. Ump ump ump and another cow bites the dust, ump ump! As Sam Eliott said, "Beef, it's what's for dinner".
  3. That reminds me of my SILaws solution to Middle East problems. For example, the majority of 9/11 terrorist were from Saudi Arabia, 1- you better stop your people! Something else happens, 2- carpet bomb a small city. Third event, 3- nuke the capital. Hard? Yes. Effective? Absolutely! And for those of you thinking that's insane, two and three is how we won World War 2. We killed millions of innocent civilians, many blonde haired, blue eyed, Christians. Why should we endanger our country by not doing the same to these Muslim people whose religion/beliefs want us dead.
  4. Wow, me too uniformed minority? I regret giving you kudos for your presentation. My original impression of you was a liberal who we could actually have meaningful discussions with. IMO the O&G industry "giving in" to climate change is to prevent what the left wants to assert, that they're culpable. If O&G is causing all this, then isn't everyone who drives, or rides, a vehicle? What's the alternative? There's another interesting part of this story. According to climate scientists, the earth was cooling between 1940 & 1970 (which you conveniently call conjecture) What happened about the same time? I'll tell you, in the mid 1970's the Fed Govt had tetraethyl lead removed from gasoline (one reason, it damaged the catalytic converters). At the time I commented to several friends that I had reservations about this due to the large volume of exhaust, and the fact that no one had studied the long term effects of the new emissions we were going to be pumping into the atmosphere. To be honest, the reason I questioned the transition, I worked in a chemical plant that made tetraethyl lead. What I'm saying, if fossil fuels are causing climate change, then we're all guilty. Me, you, oil & gas, and most probably, the US Govt is the most guilty of all. And if the left is really firmly convinced O&G is causing all this, I can't imagine the panic they would have had in the 1930's during The Dust Bowl in the Midwest. Oh my goodness, the sky is falling.
  5. I understand your point. I worked with asbestos. But I don't see the similarities in this case. Asbestos & Tobacco mfg's knew their products were harmful, but did nothing. I'll even admit the weather is changing, I'm just not totally convinced it's man made. The weather is always changing. That, plus the fact that some climate change scientists have been found creating/changing data to prove their claims, leaves many to believe, myself included, that many scientists are on this bandwagon for grant money or notoriety. Also, in 1970, the environmentalists were warning of a new ice age, due to global temperatures dropping between 1940 and 1970. Now it's warming. IMO these environmental scientists are to quick to holler wolf. Again, I understand your point, and respect your beliefs, and I'm certainly no lawyer. I do agree that IF it could be proved O&G misled the public (as A&T did) they should be punished. But since the weather patterns do change, and the science of climate change is not an exact science, how anyone, including the Oil & Gas Engineers could know that the industry was affecting the climate, is beyond me. PS: Don't see you posting often. Hope you find time to do so. We may not agree on everything, but I liked your presentation.
  6. Another example out of the Liberal Playbook. If someone doesn't agree, make it a law. Whether you think climate change is man made, or just weather cycles, this kind of thought process should concern you. [Hidden Content]
  7. No argument with that nr. I saw the changes at the chem plant I worked at in the early 70's. At that time the EPA was a needed Agency of Govt. The problem with these Agencies, once their initial work is done, they should shrink down in size to monitor what's been accomplished. But they don't. They grow larger and come up with ludicrous guidelines to justify their existence and solidify their power. An analogy would be to compare it to a man having needed heart surgery. During that surgery, there would be a min of 2Dr's and number of nurses. After surgery, a nurse would monitor the patient, and a Dr. would stop by to affirm the patient was okay. It's a simplified comparison, but you get the idea. To be such educated people as most of our politicians are supposed to be, to often they do some really dumb things.
  8. Hard to believe we won one. [Hidden Content]
  9. Basically, if I understand the technical parts, each officer when being placed in a situation, has to make a decision, arrest or not arrest. And since, I'd guess, very few know All The chapters & verses of the law, the determination of prosecution, or not, is decided "up the chain of command". Makes since to me if I got right.
  10. +1,000
  11. Thank you. I followed the Indians to the Astrodome several years during the Coach Ethridge era. I remember back then they were known as The University of PNG, because of the success on the football field
  12. You know LFR, I continue to be amazed at this stuff. I need to come to grips with the fact that there's no end to it, but my mind can't comprehend. It's similar to the infinity of space. To our minds, it has to end somewhere. On the plus side, when taking a vacation, there's now two states that will be on my list to visit. What I don't understand, since the whole LGBT community is relatively small, why do Big Businesses like NFL, Disney, and Coke, get involved and risk alienating the majority of the public? Anyone?
  13. These "list" that "they" come up with are so much bs. I'm older than water. I was born in Vidor and lived there 65 years until we moved to Evadale to be close to G'kids. In my youth, I saw a few Klan rallies, but never personally knew anyone in the Klan. After returning from a few years in the army, getting married and raising my family, all that was gone. About 15 years later, I Subscribed to Texas Monthly. Issue came out with cover, The Most Hate Filled Town in Texas - Vidor. I was livid. Read distorted article and looked at the many pictures. Of all those pictures of klansmen, not a single one was from Vidor. I had Never been ask to join the klan nor received any literature on it in 65 years. Cancelled my subscription. The real irony of this story, my daughter, who had never seen anything related to the Klan, married and after several years, moved to a new home in another Beaumont suburb. Within the first month a leaflet was left on her front porch trying to get them to join the Klan. I can only guess if "list", like the one on Groves, Pt Neches, and Vidor, had been around a hundred years ago, most would have ended up in the outhouse for a more practical use than the info.

  15. Boy has guts. Unfortunately, his first from the drop zone was a REBgp special.
  16. Hate to see a meltdown like that.
  17. Again! This is Ernie Els all over again.
  18. SPLASH
  19. Dang, Jordan dropped one on 10 with that BA 11 coming up
  20. I sure hope Jordan got all the "bad" out those last two holes yesterday. I'd like to see him win again. Young man is pretty classy. Got a feeling it's going to be an exciting finish.
  21. I'll be honest 77. I can't tell for sure if he's Muslim or just a brainwashed Kumbaya dude thinking "they're not really that bad". Either one is bad for America.
  22. [Hidden Content] Let me rant a few lines. Bare with me because (due to needed censorship on the Forum) I must translate what is coming out of my brain into words acceptable for viewing. In my ignorance, I thot this college, now national, PC insanity would go the way of so many fads. Talk about naive. If someone thot of me as a redneck (which, based on my interpretation of the word, I am) they ought to see my neck after reading the link above. It actually feels hot. So I have a new take on this bs called pc. It's their new religion. Seriously! And like Islam, it has no toleration for any opposing views. Their daily lives consist of listening and looking for anything that slander their new God, much like their predecessors, the Gestapo, did in Germany. And I can only imagine the power rush these people(?) get when they find a "sinner" and chastise him or her. FREEDOM OF SPEECH? Not in this country.
  23. Might work. [Hidden Content]
  24. [Hidden Content] Wife and I were thinking of taking a vacation. Think North Carolina will be the place if they don't cave. Big Corporations throw their weight (money) around to intimidate State Legislatures. Christians and normal folks need to do the same. If a state caves, like Georgia did, don't go there. Unfortunately, my in laws live there, but when we visit them, I'll keep my spending to a minimum. Can you imagine if everyone with Christian values stopped drinking Coke, how much money they'd lose and how quick they'd get out of politics?
  25. Ran across this and it might help explain (not justify) why the teacher did what she did. Had this young man been subjected to the pain and humiliation of a piece of wood slapped across his behind when he first started being disruptive, it might have straighten him out. Suspension? Lol, that's right in his wheelhouse. We expect teachers to tolerate rude, and verbally offensive disruptive behavior. I couldn't! They must be Saints.
