The whole District improved. LCM had a great run. Vidor lost their first game by 5 to the improved 4th place finisher, Chapel Hill, who’s in the State Semi-Finals. Huffman & Lumberton made a good account of themselves before falling to Kilgore & Lindale. I look for the whole District to improve again next year. The four teams going forward in 2022 will be formidable.

Be interesting to see if this miracle team, CH, with their Fr QB & RB can continue their quest for a SC.

I suspect that’s because so many locals know Crosby has trouble with the Slot T.

Took my first look at SOC. Only loss to 6A Duncanville. They look unbeatable in 5A-D2. LH on the other hand, lost to 4A LBJ, so the only chance I see is their offense. The question seems even more legitimate the more I look. Just looking at Crosby vs LH, Crosby looked the winner, as you said, but LH pulled it off. It’ll take a super effort against SOC, but…….. not even sure that’ll do it. If SOC can defend the LH offense, this game will get real ugly, real early.

Sure it does, but no one is posting/implying that LH is a sure thing while several post have implied SOC is. And if SOC is virtually a sure thing, what could be the one Achilles Heel? A new offense.

I do too. Folks that hate that offense probably have a hard time with it.

Congrats to LH. They beat a durn good team tonight. I’m not ready to give the SC to SOC yet. Have they faced the Slot T?

In all fairness I know Carthage was trying to “find themselves” also. They had the wrong QB in in the first half against Crosby. Have no idea about LBJ. Regardless of each teams struggles in those early days, it’s still a rather odd situation. As I posted earlier, I bet it’s very rare, if it’s ever happened before. Go Cougars!

Congratulations to all these young men. The ability/drive/commitment you used/have that made you a success in TX HS Football should be the same assets you use to be a success in life. Take’em and use’em.

No doubt things would be different in a rematch, still you have to admit it’s stranger than hades. Bet if someone went back through the record books, you wouldn’t find this happening very often (if ever).
