  1. I’m 76 but still fairly well mentally, but nothing like I was. Last week saw a guy on TV in his 90’s. He appeared to be more cognizant than me. Bottom line, some older folks can still function well & some can’t. That’s true, to a lesser degree, in younger folks.
  2. Older I get the more convinced I am that many more folks are crazy than we imagined. Also, with Covid lockdowns it appears many who might struggle through life are tipped over the edge. Besides this inexplicable story, look at all the incidents on airplanes. The Crazies are among us.
  3. Appears Flannigan & Rio have talent where they’re at. So is it finding talent or simply being a really good Coach? Imo, a really good Coach will bring the talent out. Most schools that are losing have a lot of good talent, but they’re either not being used properly, or not playing at all. A new Coach comes in and has the charisma to get the kids back in football, plus knows how to utilize the talent he has, and voila, you got a winner. Jmo. You can play “Crosby’s the greatest” all you want, and they’re very good, but don’t never think Crosby is unique about having talent. Based on SC rings, based on your talent theory, Carthage must have the most talented kids in Texas. So where was this talent pool prior to Surratt’s arrival?
  4. The “ diamond” I was referring to was Rayburn. Wouldn’t expect Coach Gaston to see things like I do. Doubt anyone does. FYI, folks are unique. And that’s Probably a good thing.
  5. Makes sense. I’d say it’s working. Had some good coaches. Got another good one now.
  6. I’m not sure even BH, with all their money, could afford that. Not what just the school is paying, but what they got (getting) from others. Why, if not money, could a school like Crosby have had so many quality coaches? It’s not like they’re a powerhouse such as Aledo or Southlake Carroll. It’s not like near a diamond like Lake Rayburn. So, pray tell, what else is there? …….$$$$$$. I wonder, but open to other theories.
  7. Just need for the Crosby D to stay at home. Success of the Slot T is based on the D getting out of position going for the fakes. Nail the DE’s & LB’s feet to their spot, it’s all over for LH. But…. Based on their troubles with Vidor, that won’t happen, so it’ll be a slugfest like last year. Still, I think the Cougs are to good to lose this one. Big Red Rolls.
  8. Durn sure wouldn’t be Crosby. They’d opt up to avoid Vidor. 😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😂 Just yanking the Cougars tail. They should beat LH easy, but……LH runs a version of the Slot T, which has been a problem for Crosby. In this game, I think Crosby just to good to lose.
  9. Depth is always a problem, especially at key positions. QB in spread especially, and RB’s in Slot T. Not many schools in 4A have that type of depth. Yes, I look for Huffman to be strong again as well as Ltown. All depends a lot on what the UIL comes up with in February (I think they come out with new alignment in Feb). Everything being equal, I look for the same 4 playoff teams.
  10. I think Vidor has a similar, if not more, number coming back on D. After studying the other Districts for playoffs, it’s apparent to me that our District takes Defense much more seriously than others. I think it’ll make a big difference in next year’s playoffs.
  11. Old Buddy, you’re about 2 & 1/2 pages late with this advise. Seems some have tarred & feathered BF already. If true, one very strange decision, if based on football. And folks need to remember that PNG is about 400 students (Ned 500) in the hole each year. There’s a reason Crosby & Barbers Hill come up in the top four so often. Imo 5A-D2 has the biggest disparity in all the Classifications. Sure, there are no doubt exceptions, but not many. Those numbers mean something or the the UIL wouldn’t use them.
  12. I think the Cougars run wild in this one. Can’t see LH slowing down the red machine. Go Cougars!
  13. Yes, gotta be proud of the Bears. Great season. Last night they just seemed out of sync, but coming from the cellar to playing for Regional Champs, just WOW! Like Vidor, the durn injury bug hit them. Jmo, but I think Landry being hurt affected the whole team. Look forward to LCM, Vidor, Ltown and Huffman doing it all again next year.
  14. Big Congratulations LCM Bears. Great season!
  15. Should’ve had 10 in from the start. Jmo
  16. Big stop by Bears. CH misses 29 yd FG. Bear ball.
  17. I missed this one but two weeks ago I saw a team burn two TO’s on a missed XP. Then, needing a score was at the opponents 25 yd line with 1:40 to go. They were a running team but passed 4 times in a row. They lost. Worst clock management I’ve seen this year.
  18. Don’t even look near the same. Where’s the intensity?
  19. LCM QB hurt & out. WOS stud broke arm. SETX catching heck.
  20. Dang, Dist 10 defeated by injuries. Outscore us. Whip us. Just don’t let us lose because of injuries. 🤬🤬🤬
  21. CH 67 yd drive. 14-0. LCM has no answer to CH offense. And with Landry crippled, no offense. This one going to get ugly - err - uglier.
  22. Obvious Landry not at full speed. He’s limping.
