Sure, and if I hadn’t of had my GPS do you think Columbus would’ve discovered America? The goof ball was headed to Johannesburg until I convinced him to turn around. 😂🤣😂

That’s some classic underwear, lol. If you ever see a picture of Teddy Roosevelt signing the papers to make Yellowstone a National Park, I’m the handsome man in the background to the left (I know, first liar ain’t got a chance 😂😂😂).

What will 12 5a div 2 look like next year ???

Still, it appears to me, as an outsider, that it’s a pretty good rivalry. Both solid programs and usually a hard fought contest. -
You’re 100% correct. I was just jerking setxathlete14 chain. Excited about Friday. Do want to see a Pirate victory.

I’d heard Ned & PNG groups had offered money to students to transfer over to Crosby (temporarily) to get their numbers up. Guess it didn’t work well enough. Another two years of being stepchildren. It’s a sad the things people will do. On a serious note, kind of hate to see BH go up (if they do). Enjoy the interchange between y’all. Enough 🐂💩 flies around to fertilize East Texas. -
Tyler Chapel Hill vs. Vidor (Bi-District)

By all means, raise up the skull & crossbones high. Powder the guns and load the cannons. Prepare to repel boarders. Draw your swords and cut the knaves down. How dare they seek to sink the Black Pearl. She’s the queen of the Caribbean and shan’t be thwarted by a bunch of bowlegged dogs. ☠️☠️☠️☠️👽☠️☠️☠️ wait, how did he (👽) get in there. Intergalactic interference. 😂😂😂 -
And out of the woodwork but what appears? 😂🤣😂

Okay, let’s look at District points. And if you look at points, you have to look at all points, for and against. Vidor PF 134 & PA 79 = 55. LCM PF 163 & PA 113 = 50. Pirates win.

Which reminds me of one of the greatest quotes in Football - “You can’t outrun speed”. 😂😂🤣😂😂

Tyler Chapel Hill vs. Vidor (Bi-District)
Hagar replied to piratevillain's topic in High School Football
Obvious these Dist 9 teams don’t play much defense. I hope the hard hitting Pirate D might unsettle them somewhat. My biggest fear is the big play. The off tackle run with a missed tackle & the RB takes it to the house. The short pass for 5 yards that ends up being a 65 yard TD. Pirates need to wrap up and hold on. If Vidor can make a few long, time consuming drives for points, the CH offense is going to feel the pressure to do something. Our biggest advantage will be if the CH defense is undisciplined. If they go for the first or second fake, the third guy with the ball will eat up some serious yards. Vidor should win this but CH will be pumped up to knockoff the Dist 10 #1 seed. Go Pirates. You can win this game even with a peg leg. -
Can Ltown win? Sure. Will they? Probably not…..BUT, there are some pluses, imo. First, Dist 9 has pretty much dominated 10 for years. Perhaps (probably) to Lindale it’s a Ho-hum game. They just lost the DC to Kilgore and could still be reeling from that. Also, on paper it’s a nobrainer that they should beat Ltown. And based on Dist 9’s lack of defense, the hard hitting by the Raider’s D might unsettle the Eagles somewhat (yes, that’s reaching, but we’ll take any edge). All that plus Ltown’s proclivity to play up to the competition indicates a much better game than one would think by merely comparing the two on paper. If the Eagles happen to give the Raiders a fumble here, a pick there, yes the Raiders could win this game. Even if the Raiders lose, I hope a little Dist 10 smash mouth football will have the Eagles waking away with respect for how the Raiders play football. I know the Pirates gained their respect last year, holding them to 29 points, better than anyone in Dist 9 did. C’mon Raiders, play the best game you’ve ever played. Then, in third round you get a rematch with the LCM Bears.

The OL - no headlines and little or no recognition, but to have a winning team, one of the most important components. Without a good effort from them QB’s can’t setup and make their throws, RB’s rarely clear the line of scrimmage. Them hoggs make things work.

A successful recipe for victory. Hope Matthews refreshes the need not to fumble. We give them a few turnovers and it’s basketball time. -
Just what you don’t need. Hate to hear it, for the kids and the team. Especially since I’m a Raider fan now.

Tyler Chapel Hill vs. Vidor (Bi-District)

Basically, even though it’s a common opponent, it tells us nothing. Still, would love to hear from someone who’s seen both teams. I do think if Vidor can control the ball and stay close, we’ll own the fourth Qtr. -

Can’t imagine the Pirates not being up for this game, but with all the subs, we’ll need a 110% out of everyone. One common opponent, Livingston. Here you have to realize the situation at the time. They beat Livingston 35-15, but the Lions still had their stud QB. Vidor beat them 40-7 and the Lions without their QB. Even here, Vidor had 40 at the end of the 3rd Qtr, so Matthews played Subs in the fourth. Based on all that, it’s hard to get a significant handle on who might have the advantage. I’d love to hear from @Lions Pride 2021 or anyone who might have seen both teams play, and get their take on this matchup. -
I’ve mentioned several times about Dist 9’s lack of defense. Here’s some info on both Districts Points Against. Vidor 170 Chapel Hill 252 LCM 184 Palestine 320 Ltown 195 Lindale 317 Huffman 118 Kilgore 233 Not sure what their approach is to defense, but it’s certainly not high up on their priorities. It should be noted that they score a lot more points than Dist 10, but with defenses like they have, they have too.
-
Evidently Dist 9 takes a lackadaisical approach to defense. Their game plan is simply to outscore the other team.

If Vidor was back at 100%, I’d be looking forward to meeting Kilgore in the third round, with a realistic chance at winning. As is, young Pirates will have to man up. If we get by CH, odds are we’ll meet Kilgore in third round. C’mon Pirates, win this one. Posters in other district already talking about a sweep. Show’em what you got. -

Hagar replied to piratevillain's topic in High School Football
Getting blown out by Kilgore & Lindale is no big disgrace. CH brings a lot to the table. Based on stats in MaxPreps, their offense is almost exactly 50-50 between the run and pass. Makes defending them even tougher. QB can run also. They’ll be a handful on offense. As usual, Vidor’s best defense is keeping the ball on long, time consuming scoring drives. If Vidor can do that, Pirates should win, but this ain’t your usual 4th place seed. Probably one of the top three in the State. So Pirates, buckle up your chin straps and cinch up your pads. This is what you’ve worked for all year. Don’t let Chapel Hill take it away. -
