  1. Here’s the brackets. Obviously not all filled out yet. [Hidden Content]
  2. Looks like y’all will probably get Columbia in second. Basing all this on no one in Dist 11 gets to the second round, lol.
  3. If we manage to defeat CH, we’ll probably face Brazosport in the second round.
  4. A problem not unique to HH. One even more prevalent in many smaller schools in East Texas. Unfortunately, probably goes on in most schools.
  5. Read that comment on the Kilgore vs Lindale thread several times. With a 62 to 55 score ( if not at that, close) at end of 3rd Qtr, wasn’t much wrapping up going on. Defense seems to be a weakness in Dist 9, but the high powered offenses overcome it.
  6. I’m not giving up on the Falcons. They only allowed 118 points and if Dist 9 has one weakness, they don’t play much defense. Kilgore given up 233 points. If HH can corral their offense they might stay in the game. Easier said than done, but I’ll be a Falcon fan.
  7. Matchups are (best as I can tell): Vidor vs Chapel Hill LCM vs Palestine Ltown vs Lindale Huffman vs Kilgore Btw Raiders, Lindale lost their RB to a broken bone. Wishing all our Dist 10 teams the best. I’ve posted earlier on another thread, probably the strongest 4 teams Dist 10 has sent to the playoffs, and as someone replied, maybe ever. I think all have a legitimate chance. Will take a few breaks, but a football bounces funny. Dist 9, as always, sends four good teams. Even Chapel Hill is a formidable opponent and could win District in many 4A-D1 Districts.
  8. For most long time Vidor fans the Pirates keeping their composure is the most amazing thing of all. That will to not lay down and then come back from an almost insurmountable deficit (based on the Slot T) leaves most of us with our mouths open in disbelief. I’ll admit, I’m still in shock. Can’t say enough about these young men.
  9. Unbelievable. That has to be close to a record. I think Ltown might surprise Lindale. May not beat them but they’ll know the Raiders we’re there. I’d bet this is the best 4 teams Dist 10 has sent to the playoffs in a while.
  10. Appears Defenses stiffened in the fourth Qtr - Final Kilgore 68 Lindale 58. Or, could’ve been both offenses just ran outta gas.
  11. I honestly didn’t think we’d win before the game started. And if this was a Pirate team of old, being down 20-7 at half would’ve been all you needed. These guys don’t quit. Even with all the injuries. Proved me wrong, and I’m thrilled they did.
  12. I was wrong about time in above post. End of 3rd Qtr Kilgore 62 Lindale 55
  13. Final score 19-12?
  14. One other unique thing about this win, rarely (hardly ever) seen Vidor win a game by kicking XP’s. Kudos to the kicker, even if he does kick from the wrong side.
  15. Wow, I lose money betting on this game.
  16. Score still the same? Btw, Vidor beat Ltown 28-27.
  17. Ever find out what’s up?
  18. Amen. They have more heart than sense.
  19. Evidently Dist 9 has great offenses or no defenses. Just starting 4th Qtr & Kilgore up 55-48 (best as the guy could tell - didn’t have a calculator, lol).
  20. This ain’t your Dad’s Pirates.
  21. I’ll take a firing if they pull it out.
  22. Dadgum rot, they been doing that.
  23. This definitely ain’t your old Pirates.
  24. They did it a bunch last week against HH. Only hope was they’d get over it. Evidently not.
  25. You think that’s mentality? Then what’s the score? Vidor’s the same team that had it’s way with LCM, who beat Lumberton. Mentality has nothing to do with it. Not enough depth has everything to do with it.
