Muenster 50 Dallardsville Big Sandy 43/Final
Uncle Pig replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
its no coincidence that the 2 teams playing in the state champ game were a combined 29-2(Canadian 16-0 and Muenster 13-2)this past football season. Football makes you better in all sports....bottom line -
Big Sandy v Muenster State semi #1

Canadian back again...they are unbelievable...and to think they've only played 20 games this year. They are just a well oiled machine. Their state champ football squad was one of the most impressive teams I've ever seen. Make no mistake the tremendous success they've had on the football field has carried over to the court -

I don't see BS winning by any less than 20. I just keep waiting for them to slip up, and all they continue to do is to maul everybody -

Pretty sure he played at A&M in early 90's

Agreed. I firmly believe that weightlifting(especially squats, power clean, and deadlift) is a must for all athletes, pitchers in particular. Proper weightlifting will go a LONG way in improving a pitchers durability, velocity, and power.

Nutrition in high school sports
Uncle Pig replied to BADSANTA's topic in High School Boys Basketball
they do but it doesnt matter....half the kids still eat bags of chips and cokes for breakfast. When a kid is good enough to play at the next level you see them come back around town Christmas after their first semester they have put on 30-40 pounds of solidness and look great...they are no longer eating crap for meals -
Great thing about working in a bigger school...the school board has little or no say so in personnel decisions. The school board hires the supt, and he hires/fires/renews/non renews all other administrators. I really dont understand why boards have so much power in the smaller schools. I wonder what percent of board members in 1A-4A schools are lacking a college degree? Im going to go out on a limb and say its a very high percentage

Since 2000, just 17 of 64 state champions in 6A and 5A have come from communities with a median household income below the state average

And it's not the boards having limited funds, it's called priorities. If you think for one minute that several of those schools on that list have any more money than a lot of these southeast Texas schools you're kidding yourself.
