  1. Roughnecks won the championship over 3A # 12 Stephenville in double OT 84-81.  WO's 6 ft 7 big man Levi Yancy had 20 points, 26 rebounds and 4 blocks.  Roughnecks finished with 5 players in double figures. WO advanced to the championship game with a 65-44 win over 3A Decatur.  Roughnecks placed 5 guys in double figures in this game as well. Up next: Bullard Brook Hill @ home Tuesday then Spring Hill Tourney Thurs thru Sat.
  2. Sounds like the Lions have got it rolling.
  3. Roughnecks won their first 3 games in the Van Tourney defeating Rusk 82-48, Athens 93-71 and Paris North Lamar 68-59.  Today at 12:55 pm they will take on a good Decatur team in the semi finals.  The other semi final matchup pits a couple of 3A state ranked teams Stephenville vs Princeton.  Win or lose we will get better.
  4. First game for the Roughnecks after getting their football players.  WO moves to 2-0 and SH falls to 4-1.
  5. gotta get out of a tuff region 3 first...but they are capable of doing that.
  6. Is it true that Artis is not able to play due to suffering a torn acl last week?
  7. White Oak vs Anahuac 7:30 pm, Friday @ Diboll White Oak is designated home team
  8. 7:30 Friday @ Diboll    White Oak is the home team... $6 for Adults, $3 for students.
  9. who ever get 2nd and 3rd in 10-2A is in for trouble in bi district...9-2A is LOADED.
  10. WO lost the MVP of the state tourney Caleb Carr which was one of our guards.  The other starter lost was the 6 ft 4 post Jarrod Whisenhunt...the left handed kid...  So we got 3 starters back and 3 or so that contributed alot last season....We will be 6 ft 8 and 6 ft 2 inside and the 3 guards will all be good especially returning all state point guard Kris Anderson who is getting some looks from D1 schools.
  11. King James...I am from White Oak and don't worry our fans fully expect to see Kountze at the regional tourney.  WO fans are pretty savvy for the most part and respect the Kountze tradition.  We got some newcomers to the region this year that will make things interesting.  Teams like Jarrell, Salado, Marlin and Franklin.  Clarksville and Edgewood moving to region 2 doesn't hurt my feelings...Good luck to yall.
  12. Congrats to Kountze on a great season.  It has been impressive to see the improvement throughout the season. I expect yall to be back at SFA again next yr.  That game could have went either way today. Lots of respect for yall's tradition and program.  As a White Oak fan, I tip my cap.  Hopefully my Roughnecks will rep region 3 well in Austin.
  13. Gonna come down on how well White Oak handles Kountze's full court press.  If WO plays like they did last night Kountze will have their way with em.  If WO plays like they have most of the season I say WO by 5-10 pts.
  14. Crockett is now 17-6.  I saw both of these teams play the other night.  I could not believe how little Kountze was.  Of course I am used to seeing Kountze's teams of the past in Austin.  They are doing a good job for such a young team though.  Crockett is way down from last yr's team.  They are still athletic but not real skilled.  They got a point guard #24 that thinks he is better than he is. He jacks it up from anywhere and everywhere or will drive and then dish off to the heavy set post on the backside block. I have seen all of the heavyweights play in this region and the winner of this game is in deep trouble in the next round against Tatum or Edgewood.
  15. Troup has one good shooter , #23, other than that not so much
  16. Kountze playing a warmup game?
  17. Why is Kountze so up and down this yr?  I really thought it would be Kountze and White Oak in the finals but the Lions get rolled up on for the second time this yr by Central Heights.
  18. They will have to get by a loaded White Oak team if they make it to regional tourney
  19. White Oak vs. Corrigan Camden Game 1: Thursday 7pm  Angleina College, Lufkin Game 2: Saturday 2pm  Hallsville Game 3: if needed 30 min after Game 2
  20. Its almost impossible to beat these 1A-3A programs that are fed by club parents in bigger cities.  Poth has an enrollment of 245 but yet every yr they have a roster of 10 or so girls 5 ft 8 or taller....It is what it is!  Poth is 15 min outside of San Antonio...1A Windthorst is right outside of Wichita Falls.  2A Bushland is right outside Amarillo.  Lovejoy is right outside the Allen/Plano area.    People in the know knows what's going on!  The club  parents get together and move out and stack these schools...alot times when the kid is in middle school...Nothing can be done about.
  21. White Oak is 36-0, Centerville 35-1 and Jewett Leon 33-3.
  22. What is Warren's season record?
  23. Overton and Lovelady are playing at Pollok Central Thurs, Fri and Sat
