From the Officials final report on penalties Kountze flagged 6 times for 60 yards Buna flagged 12 times for 90 yards

The final score last year was Buna 21 Kountze 14! Not sure how Kountze could have lost a TD off the board. It was 14 - 7 Kountze at half. Both teams are well prepared and it will be a fun game to watch.

The Buna Cougars will host West Sabine at 2:00 on Saturday. The seniors who have dedicated themselves to our program over the past 5 years deserve the chance to play their senior season. Our hearts go out to those who have suffered so much damage and heart ache. We hope to see all those deserving kids back on the field soon. Collin just homered in his first at bat in the 5 hole! He is hitting behind Koby Clemens.

I just talked to Collin on the phone and he has been called up from single A Lexington to their Single A advanced club in Salem, Virginia. Collin is batting .261 and is tied for the league lead in bombs with 12. He is suppose to start tonight in Salem. Congrats kid, we are all pulling for you!

Just to clear the air, Buna trailed 6-4 going to the 7th. Buna's Craft led off with a double followed by 2 walks. Following a strikeout, Josh Clark singled in a run to cut the lead to 1. With the bases still loaded, Carrell hit a slow roller to 3rd and the 3rd baseman threw the ball home. The New Boston catcher (it looked like to me) did not know the kid was coming home and caught the ball but never stepped on the plate. With the score tied and bases still loaded, Kyle Clark hit a deep fly ball to right and the Cougars took the lead. The umpires had to clear out several fans from the NB bullpen because of threats being made. There was about a 5 minute delay while the police tried to clear the area. Clark went back to the mound and got two fly outs to right and then struck out a batter to end the game. Both teams played great and fought hard! The Cardiac Coogs came back and advanced!

The Regional Semi-Final Matchup is tentatively scheduled for this weekend! Game 1 - Friday 7:00 at Carthage Game 2 - Saturday 1:00 at Carthage Game 3 - if needed 30 minutes later

In Buna, we lift religiously! All my baseball players lift 3 days a week. If we are lifting on a game day, the pitcher for the day or possible pitchers, will do different lifts or lighter weights. Lifting on game days has never effected any of my kids. In fact, 90% of them love to lift on game days. The other 10% never like to lift, game day or not! By the way, the person with the log in name of Terrier is not Coach Terrier from Buna. I am.

How is the young man doing that was injured in the 7th inning? I know he was still a little shook up when he left the field, but he is a very tough kid! I hope he is doing fine!

I continually hear the same thing coming from many people on this board, "they haven't played any one!" I am a coach and I would like to say this.... People have said the same thing about us in Buna and we know that Buna and Hardin are dang good football teams. You play each week whoever is on the schedule and if you are a good football team you do what these 2 teams have done! You pound your opponents! That is exactly what both teams have done. Weaker opponents have been hammered and when we face good opponents, our kids still play great! Hardin played great against Buna and Buna did the same against EC! Good teams always rise to the top in the end, no matter who the opponents are! Good luck Hornets, and keep playing hard! Every team in the district knows you guys can play!
