Fort Bend Marshall 42 Crosby 21/FINAL
Gurulyfe4football replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Football
How many carries has Craig Williams seen since the IMG scandal surfaced? Our 4.3 RB had 4 carries. Were we hiding something? If I'm Craig Williams I'm on my way to Florida. -

I agree people toss around 4.4 and 4.3 way too much. I only know of 2 varsity football players in the Houston area that's running a 4.3 Craig Williams (Crosby) and Caleb Jolivette (Manvel). With that said I don't think there's a whole lot more athletes running in the 4.4s. -

I'm not going to underestimate them with our pedestrian running game this year against their 4-3 defense and their speedy secondary. I hope we can get more creative. -

Speed didn't beat Crosby against Ridge point size did. With that said, Marshalll looks better than College Station on film to me. This might be the toughest team before state for Crosby -

I think NC has Manvel. That's a tough draw in the 2nd round. Better get rid of the ball quick. It's going to be hard for Allison to run the ball. -

Crosby was also without Craig Williams who is probably the fastest RB in the country and #30 Dylan Barnaba one of our best defenders. -

The score was 21-14 midway through the 3rd. I compare them to New Caney because that was the best traditional offense that we've seen. Chris Monroe isn't the caliber RB that Marte Allison is, and NC QB is more allusive with a better arm. I only watched 3 quarters, but their offense plays into our defensive strengths. We have to beat Marshall first though. -

I've watched the first half of CS and WH online and they play right into our defensive strengths. They've run a lot of WR sweeps and just running the back on dives up the middle. Eye test tells me they aren't better than New Caney. -

Chris Monroe is their leading rusher on the year and he is playing. Just scored a TD. -

It's too late for that now. They should have established that early. Could have controlled the clock and slowed the blitz. Too far behind now. -

PA Memorial is laying out the blueprint for how to stop Porter's passing game when you have speed defensively. Man up on the line with hi safety(s) and countinuously apply pressure. Great coaching job by PA Memorial. -

Looks like PA is going to keep the pass rush coming. Gotta get the ball on the outside. -

Dylan has been the heart of the defense this year. He hadn't played football since his freshman year. -

Best all around defender we have. Smart solid tackler and pure athlete. -

We are at our best when we have multiple backs from prior years history. Looking at the rushing numbers, that has been the only difference between now and prior years. With both of them healthy it should be an exciting post season. -

They have talent don't get me wrong but never the talent of a North Shore or Westlake. With an exception of a few kids you never hear about Katy athletes doing anything after high school. -

Yes he did suit up. I agree with you on the NFL level and depending on nature of the infraction. On the high school level discipline beats talent all day. If you look at Katy they are like a machine. They are never the most talented team in the state, but everyone of those kids buy into the program from day 1. -

I am a firm believer in discipline. Mike and Mike had this same convo this morning, because some Jets D Lineman had to sit out a quarter for being late to team meeting and they got pounded in the run game in the 1st quarter and eventually lost. The question was do you put your best athletes on the field if they give you the best chance to win despite their issues. Surprisingly they said "Yes". I say no especially on the high school level. Accountability off the field equates on the field. Thats what I liked about David Aymond at North Shore. It didn't matter how good you were if you didn't buy into the system you were gone.
