  1. It a weird thing...Teams always seem to give a little extra when playing state ranked teams
  2. After such a great season last year, Kirbyville has a large target on their backs and every team they play is going to give them their best.....
  3. We got hammered by rain overnight. It finally stopped about an hour ago. I wouldn't be surprised if we got 3-4 inches of rain.
  4. What was the weakness though? Your poll specifically mentions PNG has a weakness? So what is it? Is it the fact that PNG threw the ball for 270 yds? Is it the fact that they wore the Ned. Defense down in the 2nd half with hard nose, north and south running by Harmon? Is it the fact that PNG is now +12 in turnover margin? If you are going to make a blanket statement like that, you got to support it with some factual basis. 1/2 half nederland controlled the game that is essentially what I was referring too. I wasn't at the game and had to rely on what I read about it. PNG and Ned posters were saying things like: "Who said a deep playoff team? I just hope we get to the playoffs" PNG fan "Dogs did outplay PNG. Turnovers hurt. Hopefully the bring the same intensity to the 2nd half. Defense held Harmon to around 40 yards, including long run" "IMO they've been wishy washy" PNG fan "We must play better all around if we expect to make the playoffs. I believe Faircloth knows that as he said we must play better...I was really disappointed by how undisciplined we played as a team. Must play better from here on out." PNG fan "This game could've turned ugly but PNG made several bone head mistakes." PNG fan "The Indians will have to step it up to make the playoffs, they have the talent." Ned fan "If not for turnovers who knows what might happened.. Indians must stop killing ourself with penalties..." PNG fan I believe all of those statements to be honest assessments of PNG. They are a solid team with work to do. They have played a weak schedule to date and weren't overly impressive against a very short handed Nederland team. Maybe my opinion is harsh but I will be the first to change it once PNG beats Central or Vidor. Don't worry about it. It's just the hup poll. All the triangle gurus will have you ranked 2nd. Hup, I'm not worried. I know this is just your opinions. It just seems like NO ONE in this area is giving PNG any credit whatsoever. Which seems to always be the case. When the Indians win.... people always are quick to jump on the "refs were slanted towards PN-G", or "They have played a weak schedule". It has happened every year I can remember. In 1999, everyone was quick to point out that as good as Long was... he wouldn't be able to carry a weak team deep in to the playoffs. Yet, they made it to the big dance. Even after hard fought wins, people said they didn't deserve to be there, were "Lucky" to be there and would be dismantled by Stephenville. The Indians have always been the team that people love to hate. IMO - PN-G needs to continue to execute the plays and improve on the penalties. Focus on the task of winning a district title and not get drawn in to the hype (or lack thereof). Well I guess Stephenville and PNG have more in common than I thought....We are definitely the team people love to hate in North Texas. Heck, I'm sure your head coach even hates us ....Anyways, PNG has a great coach, even if he is from Brownwood.. , and he will keep the program headed in the right direction. They are always well coached. It's a quality program, always has been. I know that they are a quality program and always well coached....That's why I said he will keep the program headed in the right direction
  5. You should see a couple sophomore's up here play.... Jonathan Gray (RB) - Aledo 5-11, 190 lbs Had over 990 yards rushing as a freshman with 15 TD's This year he scored 7 TD's in one game An absolute beast, hard to believe he is only a soph. Can run past defenders and seems to love running over them even more. *This kid is the real deal and will go to any college that he wants. His dad is former Texas Tech RB James Gray. Aiavion Edwards (SS) - Stephenville 6-2, 205 lbs Started as a freshman The thing I like most about him is that he goes for the sure tackle first and the knockout punch second. Plays the pass extremely well and LOVES to fill the alley. Returned an interception 95 yards for a TD a couple weeks ago *Will go anywhere that he wants as well...Plays running back as well in certain formations

  7. Vidor 38 Lumberton 21
  8. I figured you would catch that...haha
  9. I agree, the only problem is that the head coach is from Brownwood
  10. Get ready for a show....I saw SLC a couple weeks ago and they are for real (again)
  11. That's not good....Wishing everyone of them a speedy recovery
  12. The "Can Fans" are still loud and proud...The Jackets are really young this year, playing a lot of soph. and juniors...I look for them to be a title contender in 2 years.
  13. The downpour helped slow Ennis' high powered passing game down. Everman beat FW Southwest 53-6
  14. I can promise you that you Denton Guyer and Ennis are LEGIT.... Highland Park lost to a really good Coppell team, but you can bet that they will still go 3 or 4 rounds deep in a talented Region. I've seen Aledo play and they are really good...Not sure what happened, but I do know that it rained about 3 inches Friday night...No excuses, they shouldn't have lost! Midway barely got by an average at best Crowley squad. I definitely think the weather played a part in the final score in this one. Midway has a good ball club Frenship scored their only points at the end of the game. They got manhandled by Abilene Wylie...Look out 3A!
  15. I've got a couple questions... 1. How big is Beard? 2. Is he having any issues with his knee? Just wondering because it looks as if he's moving around really good.
  16. LSU wins in 3 games and TCU upsets Texas in 3
  17. Kind of reminds me of Wichita Falls Rider....Hopes and dreams rely on keeping that QB healthy
  18. WOS reloads every year....rebuilding isn't even in their vocabulary
  19. Heralded Nebraska freshman quarterback Cody Green will miss the Cornhuskers' first several spring practices with a soft tissue injury in his hip. Nebraska coach Bo Pelini described Green's injury as a "freak accident" that occurred while he was lifting weights earlier in the Cornhuskers' winter conditioning drills. "It's not a very serious injury but just a soft tissue deal that he aggravated and that will need a little bit more time," Pelini said. "He'll be out there pretty quick, we anticipate, but we just don't want to rush him out. Because if we do it too quick, it will aggravate the injury and that's not something we want to do." Green skipped his final semester in high school to join the Cornhuskers' program in January to get a head start in the quarterback competition to replace Joe Ganz. The competition was already shaken up when Patrick Witt announced earlier this spring he will transfer. That means that Zac Lee, Kody Spano, converted junior linebacker Latravis Washington and walk-on Ron Kellogg Jr. will share snaps when practices begin Wednesday. Green, a 6-foot-4, 220-pounder from Dayton, Texas, was expected to challenge for a starting job this spring because of his athleticism. He produced nearly 5,000 yards of total offense and accounted for 62 touchdowns by rushing or throwing last season, leading his team to the Texas Class 4A state championship game. Pelini doesn't expect Green's injury will keep him too far behind in the competition. "He'll be in the meetings and going through things," Pelini said. "He's really a high school senior and shouldn't be here anyway is the way I look at it. I look at him as a bonus that he's even here at all." Team doctors have told Pelini on a scale of 1 through 10, with 1 being the lowest, Green's injury is considered a 1. "Obviously when he's here, we'd like to see him practicing, but the most important thing is that it's not something long-term," Pelini said. Tim Griffin covers college football for ESPN.com. 20. Interesting article.....Kinda baffling that no reason for his termination was given by the school board
  21. Mesquite Poteet is just east of Dallas....I haven't heard anything about this, but I'll see what I can figure out
  22. Different caliber of players....Permian has and will always get "move in" student/athletes
  23. Very nice....just hate to see a Brownwood guy running things now... Just kidding around, it's a Stephenville-Brownwood thing
