Whaaaa, now I'm hearing some whining. What it takes to play on the D1 level...c'mon YOU ARE GOING TO COLLEGE FOR FREE!! That's an opportunity that many non-athletic students in the top 10% of their graduating class would love to have. Hence YOU DO OWE SOMETHING TO THE UNIVERSITY. If you don't take advantage of the opportunity then its your own fault. In these days of entitlement, I guess I shouldn't expect understanding of the OPPORTUNITY that colleges are giving to athletes and the OPPORTUNITY it takes away from someone else. PS - What Myron Rolle has done at Florida State is amazing. I agree...

Schools get a lot of publicity when a player declares early for the draft, plus the schools name is plastered everywhere during the draft process and throughout the players pro career...

Young men make mistakes! If true then this was not that bad of a mistake and I am sure he learned a valuable lesson. I would have been very dissapointed if it had been drugs or robbery like some of our other local talent that made it to Austin. Did he hurt anybody? Did he hurt himself? And you have to ask yourself also did he even know that he wasn't supposed to sell the tickets? So what did he do that was so wrong that he shouldn't warrant a second chance? Again if it was rape or drugs or robbery or assault then I would really question his judgement, but it was none of those things and not even close. So being it a minor mistake and he paid a pretty lofty penalty by not being able to experience the bowl atmosphere and the gifts that come with it, I would venture to say this could be a good thing for his future (not as good if he didn't do it at all of course) and it shouldn't hurt him later in life like one of those other offenses would have done. All this is contingent on him learning from this minor mistake. I can promise you that he knew it was against the rules...guaranteed! I personally don't think it's a big deal though....It happens all the time, but usually done a little more "hush hush"

Anything is possible with the right coach and program in place..... Look at Stephenville for example...We hadn't made the playoffs since 1952 or 1953 and then the admin hires a young Art Briles. His first year we went 4-5-1 and then we took off. We started off by making the playoffs and then won a few rounds, but the most important thing the administration did was give Coach Briles time to condition his players physically and mentally...You have to give a coach time....The players that won the first state championship at Stephenville were in the 7th grade in Briles first year....They were the first group of athletes to completely go through Coach Briles program and it obviously worked. Stephenville and LCM are similar in many ways (great community, great school system, etc...) - I can promise you that Stephenville doesn't have superior athletes compared to LCM, in fact I bet most of the athletes are pretty close in athletic ability...The biggest difference is that we had a coach come in that demanded perfection, hard work, and the mind set that we were going to win every game....He made sure that we respected our opponents 100%, but also expected to win every game....Tradition has to start somewhere...Why not start it today?? I apologize if anyone thinks I tried to make this about anything other than LCM, I was just giving an example that it doesn't always take WOS or La Marque type athletes to win and win often...LCM can win! You just got to believe it, work hard, and refuse to lose....Losing has to make you sick (it literally use to make me throw up)...Good luck to LCM and remember what I said above....Tradition has to start somewhere...Why not start it today?? I would have to say that 99.999% of the WOS fans have respect for other programs and are extremely classy.....Why is it always the .001% that thinks every other program in the state sucks in comparison is the one that is spouting off at the mouth right now?

I thought it was a strange question at first, but then after answering the question I realized that the Head Coach didn't believe in pee-wee football (other than flag) and he wanted everyone on his staff to be on the same page...

If you really want to quibble...Dayton was in 20-4A last year and you could say they're just "on loan" to 19-4A. Newspapers are starting to suck because of the proliferation of the internet and not vice-versa. Why wait a day to get the news in print when you can get it instantly on ESPN.com or some other internet source? The Liberty Vindicator is the largest paper in Liberty County...they probably have 3 reporters. These boards are great...we really do get to find out who the players to watch are from the other teams that never get reported in the paper. It even let's us Dayton fans keep up with 20-4A even though we only played Livingston (who is probably further from Beaumont than Dayton is). Of course Dayton would rather BE in 20-4A even if we have to drive 90 minutes to get to LCM... The end result is all that matters, not head to head matchups or records!!! I think you are a little too biased and maybe you should just congratulate someone instead of coming on here to whine and complain......
