Crosby will be a heavy favorite in this one and rightly so. Marshall's strength is their defense but Crosby will be the best offense we have played this season. There isnt anything flashy about the Mavs offense. We rely heavily on the running of #4 JQ Davis although wr's #3 ChiChi Roberson and #88 Jacory Smith have play making ability. This definitely isnt the most talented team weve ever had but they play hard and you will know youve been in a dogfight.

I believe they found that easy walk they were looking for now.

Nederland playing like they want it more. Plain and simple. Bulldogs get ball first in 2nd half and have #15 eligible to return. Gonna see what Marshall is made of. Step up or go home.

Na, no disrespect meant at all. When he said that district was better my first thought was yea you are probably right. But i like to research and crunch numbers and was actually surprised that our district was (according to maxpreps) not only as good but possibly a little better.

BUT since you brought it up lets take a sneak peek at the comparisons. Im gonna use info from Maxpreps since they rank every team in the state. Line up our teams ranked top to bottom in each district (our #1 vs your #1, down to our #8 vs your #8) and our district has 5 out of 8 teams ranked higher. We also have the top ranked team out of the two districts (Marshall ranked 3rd in 5a d2, PNG ranked 11th). Taking an average ranking of all 8 teams in each district, our district teams average 32nd while yours ranks 36th.

Where did i say that? I compared our #2 team to your #2 team. Which i think are VERY similar. And when the game starts its between PNG and Lindale, has NOTHING to do with Marshall, Nederland, Crosby, Whitehouse or any other of our district teams.

I do think PNG comes out on top but this game could be closer than most believe. Lindale is our districts version of Nederland with a better passing game. They arent flashy or super athletic but they are disciplined and well coached and play tough.

This should be a really good game. Nederland fans are going to greatly outnumber ours due to travel distance but we typically travel fairly well. A little info about the Mavs for those that are interested. #4 JJ Green is a junior D1 recruit dual threat qb in his 2nd season as the starter. We have 3 D1 recruited wrs in senior do it all #1 Tahj Washington, senior #2 Dekendrick Bender and junior #3 Savion Williams. Our rbs are by committee between 3 different guys. We run a balanced spread offense and try to let JJ take what opposing defenses are giving. The OL is young and not overly huge but have done a better job as the season has gone on. The defense is led by senior LB #6 Brevin Randle and senior S #5 Champ Mathis. They are an aggressive bunch which leads to alot of sacks and turnovers but can be open to the big play. Its my understanding that Nederland is a well coached, disciplined, tough scrappy group that is going to bring it. So i am expecting a battle!
